I cannot verify right now, because I do not have my laptop with me, but whenever the doubleheader has been at Holmes, the boys play first and when the doubleheader is at HC, the girls play first.

OK. I just got off the phone with Anne Julian, AD at HC. She stated that the girls' game is at 6:00 and the boys' start time is approximately 7:45. That is straight from Ron Madrick's, the AD at Holmes, mouth.

What does HC's starting lineup look like, position and height?

5'11 Christian McClendon G

6'2 Jake Burger G

6'4 Jerry Arlinghaus F

 

Who else? Allen? Broering? Avery?

I think McClendon is about 6'1 or 6'2 now

Recently these games have not been barn burners. Holmes has won 7 out of the last 8 regular season matches by a 14 point average. Holmes only loss in the last 8 yrs was 2006-07 and Jefferson and Rice did not play in this game. When Holmes did have their full compliment of players in the districts, they went on to win by double digits.

The 06/07 game was won by HC in a game that Holmes was without Rice, Jefferson, Henderson, and a few other bench guys. They virtually played the Holmes' JV team in the game, plus Austin Hill.

I think over the MANY years, I'm correct about this rivalry. However, I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will point it out.

I haven't seen HC. IMO if HC tries to run with them, the Bulldogs should prevail, teams that force Holmes into half court or are big cause them problems. #1 or 2 or 3 in the state Ballard ran with them and beat them by four. NewCath (protected the ball and forced them into half court plus used the big man during crunch time) and Moore (had no answer for their big man) had the formulas. I think rivalry adds to the game early, but as things settle the Indians will need to protect the ball and slow it down. Should be fun.
