But this is a different year. What's the overall record between these two history rich programs?

Russell leads the series with Belfry 10-8.

Here are the links to todays and Monday's articles about the Russell/Belfry game from the Daily Independent.

Belfry by less than a TD.

Answer me this. With Ft Campbell out and Trigg out why are the Massey ratings the way that they are. IMO It should be OC, Russell, Desales and Belfry ranked in the top 4. Not necessarily in that order but 1-4 none the less.

1 + 1 Owensboro Cath

2 - 1 Ft Campbell

3 Russell

4 Trigg Co

5 DeSales

6 + 1 Belfry

7 - 1 Newport

8 Western

9 Leslie Co

10 Mercer Co

This was cut and pasted directly from Massey. Maybe there is some reason that someone can explain to me.

GOOD Luck Belfry! :thumb:

It isn't always the 4 best teams that make it to the semifinals, midee1.

Plus the Massey system is a computer system that looks at a season's worth of data to compute the strongest teams. It is good for conversation, but no system is perfect.

Last time I seen it at the Mercer County game it wasnt in to bad of shape.

We are so lucky to have a great ball game to enjoy this weekend! Both teams are great this year and have a great history between the two! Both teams have great fans that love their teams (that love to talk). Both teams have great kids that make up this classic game! Both teams have coaches that other programs can only dream of! This game will be decided by the team that makes the least amount of mistakes! Win or lose, I will walk away knowing that I had the chance to watch two of the best high school football programs in Eastern KY.

Go Pirates and good luck Russell!

Amen. I think that's has to be the best post yet. :thumb:

It will be a joy to watch. If we lose it will be sad for my son who is a senior, But how many other seniors are setting at home not having the opportunity to play in a game of this caliber. We should all be proud of how far both teams have made it and how hard all of the boys have played this year. When you get this deep into the season none of the games are easy.

Good luck to both teams and I hope everyone makes it to and from and thru the game safe!

And on an ending note.

GO DEVILS!!!!!!!!!!!!

This also is a great post! I will not pull for Russell any this week, but I will have your back all the way if it is your team in the Pizza Box and not mine! 2A will once again have a great team from Eastern KY to make it very difficult on the West!
