December 19, 201015 yr That was insane. If you feel your qualifications meet that of an NFL punter, send your resume to the Giants.
December 19, 201015 yr Matt Dodge should be released...but the giants gave this one away. It will be interesting to see how this team responds.
December 19, 201015 yr Matt Dodge should be released...but the giants gave this one away. It will be interesting to see how this team responds. He's an easy scapegoat. Stupid punt but a)they were up 21 late in the game and b)there were still 10 other guys on the punt team that didn't make a play.
December 19, 201015 yr My guess is Vick got a few votes for MVP to day... 2nd place votes? The MVP race has been over for a while.
December 19, 201015 yr 2nd place votes? The MVP race has been over for a while. I wouldn't be so sure about that.
December 19, 201015 yr Brady locked that up 2 weeks ago. Still there is two weeks left, and if Vick puts in two more performances like that second half today he is going to catch a lot of votes and make it close. Brady has been spectacular, but they are the Patriots. Brady is a major reason why they are the Patriots, but Belichick and the rest of the team are too. As vital as as Brady is to the Pats, Vick is 10x that for the Eagles. Numerous times this season Vick has appeared to win the game almost single handedly, really taking games over. Some of the throws he has made this season, and some of the plays he has made have just been un real, and I don't think there has been a bigger weapon in the league this year than him. He is the best Mike Vick he has ever been, and that is a very good Mike Vick. Brady has been lights out and dominated games too, but he is on a much better team than Vick. The Patriots are the type of team that does everything together and not as individuals. They have no big name stars outside of Brady on the Offensive end, and elected to kick Moss to the curve to prove they didn't need them. They have a no name defense who plays big in big situations and they get the most from their players from any other team in the league. To me Brady deserves the award, but its one of those things in which you can look at it and say, Vick is the "most valuable" player to his team, he makes up for so much of their success that giving it to a player who plays on a team that prides itself on being a team and not about being individuals doesn't seem fair. Vick has missed games though and that will hurt, especially as good of a season as Brady has had. But who knows, Brady plays three so so games and Vick plays two more incredible ones than who knows.
December 20, 201015 yr My guess is Vick got a few votes for MVP to day... I agree, with the Eagles sweeping the Giants and coming back the way they did, especially with Vick's 2nd half performance is going to sway some more votes his way. If his last two games are good, I look for the MVP race between Brady and Vick to be much closer.
December 20, 201015 yr 2nd place votes? The MVP race has been over for a while. Michael Vick is the story in the NFL. Tom Brady is worthy. We all know that...
December 20, 201015 yr Michael Vick is the story in the NFL. Tom Brady is worthy. We all know that... Exactly! :thumb: That's why I've been saying he has more of a chance than what people think. I mean it is the ultimate redemption story, we have never saw anything like this not only in the NFL, but in all of sport. Not only is the guy playing incredible coming off a two year prison sentence, but he is playing better and leading a team better than he did before he went in. With what he has done this season and with the obstacles he has overcome, he inspires people. What Brady has done this year is nice, you put the stats down and stats wise he may edge him out (comparing games played, Vick has missed games), but what kind of story would it be for Vick to come back and win the MVP, could you imagine the story that would be. Thats once in a lifetime stuff and even though there are still plenty against him, there are now a lot of people pulling for him, myself included.
December 20, 201015 yr He's an easy scapegoat. Stupid punt but a)they were up 21 late in the game and b)there were still 10 other guys on the punt team that didn't make a play. True, but Dodge has made plenty of mistakes before this one. There is no excuse for not kicking that ball out of bounds. However, like I said in the post you quoted, the Giants gave this one away...not just Matt Dodge.
