How will your team do next season?

Featured Replies

What do they lose? What do they bring back? What is the outlook for the 2006 season for the team you follow the most.

I will do mine later as I don't have one particular team I follow, but a few from the area.

Pikeville will IMO be much improved next season. Though we lose some key starters,we have some kids that are ready to step. Plus we have some talented freshmen coming in next year that can step right in and contribute. Our coach has had a year under his belt and the kids have an entire off season to learn his system.

South Laurel will be rebuilding a little bit next season. They lose Marcum, Schenkenfelter, Brown, Riley, Philpot, most of the offensive line, and several others from a class of around 18 seniors from what Coach Irwin called his best senior class in years. They do bring back Bowling at QB, Quinn (a soph who really turned on the last part of the season), Proffitt, Bingham, Baker, Hibbard and other very solid players but will really have to fill a lot of holes. I think the QB and RB spots look to be in good hands, they will still have excellent receivers, but no one like Marcum, but the line has to have some of the younger kids step up. Should be in the playoffs again next season as the district should be wide open with Madison Central losing even more seniors than South making GRC probably the early favorite to win it.

Oh no...asking me to pregnostigate again...lol. I think Williamsburg will be in the thick of the district race next year. They lose 3 seniors, only 2 of which were starters. Williamsburg has a number of quality kids returning who should have excellent senior seasons. Thomas Frazier gained valuable experience at QB and should be one of the best in the region. Frazier has a vey big upside, and under the tutelege of Black and staff will only get better. He has a cannon folks. Chase Hamblin led class a in receiving and will be huge next year, and with his leg continuing to develop could give the Jackets a big weapon at punter. Aaron Root was phenominal at linebacker as a junior with 158 tackles in 8 games and is almost fully recovered from his mcl sprain and will be a major defensive force again his senior year. Rumour has it he will move to full back on offense, more of a natural position for him than center. Tyler Rollins, AJ Jusino, and Elias Abner will spearhead the offensive line, and as a group gained experience this year. Steven Jefferies, Will Moses, and Steven McCullough will add depth at the receiver position. If the off season brings dedication in the weight room, Williamsburg will be faster, stronger and more experienced. Should be an exciting year for the Jackets in 06.

I think Lynn Camp will have a pretty solid team next year. They will return 1,000 yard rusher Joe Roskopf who really turned it on the last 3 games. LC was one of the top rushing teams in Class A this year, and with 4 out 5 starting lineman returning, you think the offense will be good. Sidney Wagner I feel will really step up, and could be another great back to come out LC. Scott Bray should be a pretty solid fullback, he has improved greatly over the course of the season. The defense returns 6 or 7 starters. Michael Hall had a big year on the dline and I look for him to have a even bigger year coming up. Cameron Simpson is another player that has improved greatly over the season, and good off season, and he will have a big year. I think we will be in the hunt for the district and region title next year. I'm hoping the tough heartbreaking games that we lost, makes next years team more determine, if it does we could have a good year.

Russell Red Devils RELOAD again for next year. Our top back is a junior, Kasey- 34 TDs this year, Jacob Sizemore- Junior. What will be the most intersting IMO will be the strength of our line for next year. We had some sophomores play this year and start.

We will have a kid returning to Russell next year also. His parents had moved to Columbus for a job but his Dad played at Russell and they will be moving back home. I have seen this kid and he will be a blessing next year as a SOPHOMORE.

A.J. Cordle will be a wonderful addition next year/ I think he runs a 4.4 or 4.5 as a freshman. Cant remember. Tyler Jones will be a junior next year. This kid has great plays this year and has been a game breaker also. Blocked punt against Ashland for a TD. Blocked a couple of punts this year. Starts at Corner on defense as a sophomore. He is a solid kid with a heart the size of a truck. Oh yea he hits like one too.

It is hard to get eveyone in but with the program we have at Russell, kids step up every year ans keep us strong.

Good luck to all teams next year and hope that your kids keep up the good workand dedication in school.

Even thogh GRC is losing 17 seniors they should still be very strong. About half of those seniors saw little or no action. They will still be deep and talented at the RB position and the line should be solid. The line will be larger but also much slower and not as athletic. DB's will be more mature and better ( I hope) . There will be a big question mark at QB. No one with any varsity experience I'm aware of to take over.Probably will be favored to win the District but........with the same asst. coaches expect to go no further than 2nd game of the playoffs. Also, a lot depends on if any players transfer or just simply don't come back as some have indicated doing.

We are still worried about this year right now, I will report back in 3 weeks, hopefully! GO REBELS!!! :dancingpa

Ashland, is returning the best group of juniors in there area. They lose 7 senior starters on D, but bring back Davis, Gallaher, Bonner, Thomas, McDavid. Cordle, Nethercutt, Bartram, Castle and a few others should be joining them this year.

For the other side of the ball, there is a big question mark at QB. McDavid has experiance at the QB in varisty play from his sophomore season, but is too much needed as a reciver, Mahan must step up and fill the QB spot. Ashland OL now has some experiance under there belt as they only lose two starting OL, Snodgrass,Cordle,Walters,Parsley,Irwin and Dillon should all be in the rotation. Bonner, Mcavid, Duncan, and Castle should fill The Receiving spots. Adam Johnson also has shown he can play and has GREAT hands. Davis should fill the empty FB spot with Thomas returning in the backfield. Should be very exciting year for the Tomcats! :ylsuper:

Middlesboro loses 3 Seniors (2 starters) OL/DL James "Smokey" Miller ,LB/TE Josh Lewis ,the other one Is a back up RB Chris Hersey.

All our great skill position players will all be back.

Line will be Ok (Not great) but with all the big game experience they received this season they should be good enough.

Outlook for 2006 It should be a good year for the VERY experienced Yellow Jackets.

WIN STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Going out on a limb raiderbird? SK will return most of their offensive weapons, I think 7 or so return on offense. On D I believe they lose 8 starter so they'll have to fill some gaps. I think they'll have a chance to be a player in NKY AAAA next season.

Well, Leslie will be in sort of a rebuilding mode after losing 16 seniors. But the big thing is they lose 9 on offense, 9 on defense. They won't be bad but they sure won't be a big caliber team like they were this year.

WIN STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Highlands is very young. They should do OK as usual. :thumb:
