As for Dixie, we'll be 8-2, win the district, beat Trinity in the regional final and then make it PJCS. ;)

They will finish the job--building on the foundation laid down by this year's seniors. :thumb:

BF, I agree with you. Next year should be very, very good. We return 4 of 5 interior starting o linemen (Roller and Schlosser at the guards and Ashton and Koop at the tackles). Those four, coupled with Evan Egan hopefully being healthy, Matt Rogers supposedly returning to the team and a couple of will be juniors, will make for what I think will be one of the best offensive lines in the state. Wise will return as a starter at one tight end and Stine got a lot of playing time and started a game or two at the other tight end.Trey Jurgens will also challenge for a starting spot at the te position. Kramer returns at the rb spot. Hurtt got a lot of playing time at the rb spot also. Conner moves up from the fresh squad as does Ollie Head who will come back from his injury stronger than ever. And please don't discount Marchetti who after sitting out his soph hear, played very well on the jv squad this past year. He's a hard runner with a big frame on him. He could add about 25 lbs of muscle and make one heck of a bruising fullback with Kramer dotting the I. With the linemen Dale has returning, he'd be crazy not to really look at that as the base offensive set. He used it some this year. Simons will return at a starting wide receiver spot. And Max Little should challenge for a starting receiver spot also. We'll have a whole lot of depth and very, very experienced players every where on offense with the exception of the qb spot. It will be interesting to see what Dale does there. Draper has the most experience and if we were starved for defensive players I would guess he'd play Draper at qb so as to keep Clay Cecil and McGraw on defense.

But, we have so much depth returning at defense, Dale may feel he can move McGraw or Cecil to qb if he thinks one of them will do better at qb than Draper (which I am not suggesting for a moment is the case). On defense, Kidwell returns at nose. Owens played a lot at one d end. Roller played a fair amount on the d line until he was moved to start on the o line. It's possible they could move him back on defense either on the line or at a lb. Jurgens played very well on the d line when he got a chance so he has to be considered a contender for a starting d line spot. Hurtt, Stine, Ball and Cecil all return at the lb spot. Joey Fitzgerald who will be a junior will push a lot of them and may end up starting at a lb spot. Jurgens should see a lot of time if he doesn't start on the d line. Head returns at one corner spot. McGraw and Bathiany both played and seemed to alternate starts at safety. I think our only need on d is the one corner back and I think it could be Daley although there are a host of talented underclassmen who will challenge him for the spot.

My guess is that Dale will feel like a kid in a huge candy store next year. His challenge will be to select the offense that takes the maximum advantage of the talent available to him. On defense. Weinrich will have alot of athletes to position also. And the frightening thing is that there are I'm sure some kids who played a decent amount this year that will be back whom I've failed to mention; and there are always a couple of kids that surprise you due to their offseason committment; and we have the extremely talented freshmen class of this year moving up.

It should be a good year and I'm really looking forward to it.

St.X Tigers will go undefeated again and 3 peat!

Correct me if I'm wrong...but I do believe that X has not lost a game to any KY school, at any level (frosh, JV, Varsity) for the past 2 years.

Leatherneck...I'm even more excited about next year. Should be the best all around team HHS has had since the Gino years.

Henry Clay.

We lose alot. Rod Johnson, Salin Simpson, all 5 offensive lineman....

The cubbard is not bare though. We have 5 big underclassman who if they improve and jell togethor could turn into a very good high school line. Donte Gay has a unique blend of speed and power to be a exceptional high school running back. In spot duty he showed flashes of briallence as a soph. Chase Minnifield(1000+ all-purpose yrds), Clark Jeter(1000+ receiving yrds) and Aaron Boyd(600+ receiving yrds) all return.

Defensively the Devils return 5 starters. Stephon Burton and Marcus Bentley both ended this season with slightly over 80 tackles. Chase Minnifield turned in 6 picks also. The other two returnees are Joe Hunter and Jacob Barney who will be 3 year starters come next season. Other underclassman also saw a considerable amount of playing time this season and will be main contributers next.

I expect Belfry to be finish no worse than final 4 in 2A with a state title birth possible. One hole must be filled, and that is SPEED guy. If someone steps up and takes fills the big play roll, they should be primed. I look for Dustin May to be a top 5 back in 2A next season.

Of course it all depends on how hard they work. Hopefully, they will take tonights defeat to heart and bleed Pirate football all offseason. If they do that, I see them making it back to the carpet.
