Kelly is "teflon", nothing sticks to him. He is all about himself. I still root for the Irish because I have since I was a youngster. However, I don't particularly like Kelly.

The rape involving one of his players and the accident with the student filming will not cause him to lose his job. Something will likely come of it, but not his job. I'm aware that some don't like Kelly and believe that he is all about himself, but I do believe that he is the coach that will turn Notre Dame around. Will he ever be Holtz? Never. Will he be far better than anyone else that's been there since Holtz? Very likely. What he did with the University of Cincinnati was amazing during his short time there and he really put that program on the map in comparison to what it had been. I know that ticket sales there sharply increased during his last two seasons as well.

The win will preserve Kelly's job. You can lose to Navy and Tulsa, but if you beat USC your job is safe.

 

I am so disappointed in USC. I don't care whether Barkley was out and it was pouring rain or not, the line should have been able to shove ND around. Mitch Mustain looked flat out awful. We have fallen very far, and the Pac-10 is only getting stronger.

 

It was definitely a disappointing season. Losing to ND the way they did made it that much worse. But, it happens sometimes with coaching changes. We'll see if Kiffin can get things moving forward in his second season. The Trojans still have talent, and with the right coach, they should have enough to survive the NCAA penalties. I'm not sure if Kiffin is that guy.
