November 29, 201015 yr Bobby leaving the Hogs to coach the Canes, thats a step down won't happen. Bobby got it going good. If Charlie leaves can't blame him, we all want to improve our job situation and make our Family happy. Any time a coach leaves a program, he leaves kids. Happens all the time. I disagree about the Canes being a step down from the Hogs other then in pay.
November 29, 201015 yr Petrino's buy out is really big, so I doubt he's acandidate. And outside of money and being in the SEC, I'd love to hear an argument for Miami being a step down from Arkansas. Prestige, recruiting grounds, and name recognition between the two schools is not even close IMO.
November 30, 201015 yr The only thing Arkansas has on UM is they fill their house every home game. The Hogs have a nice thing going but just winning the West is a bear every year. With that being said I don't want Bobby Petrino patrolling the sidelines in Coral Gables, he's a very good coach but I don't want a ME guy coaching the Canes, what he did in Atlanta shows what he's all about. I wouldn't mind Patterson but with TCU leaving for the Big East I think he's staying.

Everyone knows that they had gotten as far downhill as they nearly could have, but their history has a lot to do with their reputation too.
December 1, 201015 yr I'm not sold on Gruden in the college game. I'll believe it when I see it. Some guys are college guys and some are pro guys...Gruden strikes me as the latter. Randy Shannon never had a chance when he tied his fate to Jacory Harris.

December 1, 201015 yr With the most recent thread, it appears that there could be a good chance that Strong is heading to Miami.
December 2, 201015 yr Shannon's problem with Jacory IMO is that Harris was never challenged at the U. He never had to compete for his job, and when Marve was there Randy made sure Harris got plenty of time each game. Harris was named the starter before practice even began his sophomore year. Harris came with alot of swagger and leadership capabilities, but it has been wasted due to entitlement and being too comfortable on the job. JMO.

Regardless, Harris was never as good as his hype and you cannot win the way Miami expects with a QB that turns the ball over 2+ times every game. I'd say the Canes felt like they were even in the TO battle if Jacory only committed two turnovers in a game.
December 11, 201015 yr All things right now point to Randy Edsall being the next coach at The U. Not really sure what I think of that one...
December 11, 201015 yr All things right now point to Randy Edsall being the next coach at The U. Not really sure what I think of that one... I really don't know why anyone expected them to get a better and bigger name than Edsall. The Miami job has lost its luster more than the ND job has, and that's saying something. If we were going to go this route I would have preferred Kyle Whittingham but he would have probably said no too. GT what do Big East people think about Edsall?
December 11, 201015 yr GT what do Big East people think about Edsall? Very well respected. Runs a squeaky clean program and the kids play very hard for him...
