Palin is unelectable. I have a very hard time believing there are even enough R's so disenchanted that she could get the nomination. If she somehow were to win the nomination, Obama will absolutely get term 2.

 

This Republican would abstain or vote Obama if Palin is the choice. Unless a good third party candidate appears.

I have voted for the Republican choice for president every time since I first voted in 1972, but I will not vote for Palin if she is nominated. Personally I don't think she will get the nomination, but if she does then the GOP has blown a golden opportunity to win back the White House.

I find it amusing when my friends that are left of center, die hard democrats, talk of Palin... think back to the 70's in the movie the Exorcist and envision the bedroom scene where the possessed girl starts projectile vomiting, and spinning her head around.

 

Seriously though, Palin has not said she was seeking the Oval office. Personally I do not think she is going to win the nomination even if she did seek it out.

 

Nor do I think Mr. Obama will win a 2nd term. Heck, from what this weeks news says, many in his own party would like to see him challenged for the Democrat nod.

I don't think it's any worse overall, but I can't see this country voting Palin in office anytime soon. There is an awful lot of hatred toward her, enough that no matter how much she would win debates or nail any questions (if that's possible) she wouldn't get elected. Bush and Obama were able to overcome that hatred to win the presidency.

Just based on the headlines, I thought that it was probably just an example of mis-speaking (I've done this myself many times), but after reading it in context, I'm not sure.

 

Palin has a lot against her, if she were to make a presidential run. She quit her elected office half way into her term to arguably capitalize on her celebrity status, writing books, making huge bucks at speaking engagements and staring in her own TV show...all of this during a time in which she had taken an oath to serve her Alaskan constituents. No matter how much of a Tea Party darling that she is, I don't believe that she is, in any way, electable as president.

 

I certainly hope that the republicans will NOT nominate her as their candidate. There are several worthy republican candidates that I would like to see given a chance to lead their party and would not be dissatisfied if elected. Heck, who knows? I might even vote for one! :scared:

Yeah, I saw it and I can agree with you, that's one of many reasons why I couldn't see myself voting for her either. I can't see her getting the nod. If she does I'll write in or not vote because I can't vote for Obama or her.

All that said, I see her as hated much more than either Obama or Bush. I'm not saying she didn't bring some of that on herself.

I don't disagree. (Although I may have to deny it in a court of law.)

As I alluded to a few weeks ago, someone like Palin jumping in begs for a 3rd party candidate to take the Presidency. Obama is polarizing and has a base that will not be swayed. She is polarizing and with a base not to be swayed. There are a lot of Americans looking for an alternative.

 

If there is a third party candidate in 2012, I think it will be Palin. One could make the argument that the Tea Party was its own "party" in 2010, especially considering the number of incumbents/rank-and-file Repubs they knocked off in the primaries.

They had policies as President that people were standing against and decisions that had been made.
