November 23, 201015 yr I don't remember much of the interview. What type of "spin" did Couric do or what type of bias did she show? I think it's a fair question to ask as it's obvious Mrs. Palin is gearing up for the 2012 election. She can't just do interviews on Fox only, right?
November 23, 201015 yr Didn't Palin say she keeps up with news in newspapers and magazines? Then Couric followed with something like "which magazines and newspapers do you read?" Palin didn't have a response, or maybe stammered through something.

Palin didn't have a response, or maybe stammered through something. Exactly what happened. Palin even has discussed how it was not one of her best moments.
November 23, 201015 yr Author I went back and watched the first interview (not the "what do you read" interview). Here it is. Any "gotcha" moments/spin going on?

I am not buying that she is gearing up to run for office like many believe. Very well may be the case, but most think it is a given and I am not seeing it that way.
November 23, 201015 yr Author Because I know someone is going to want to make this comment so as to try to discredit the discussion I'll go ahead and make it first. I have been and still am one of the biggest Sarah Palin critics/bashers on BGP. We can now stay on track with actual discussion.
November 23, 201015 yr I went back and watched the first interview (not the "what do you read" interview). Here it is. Any "gotcha" moments/spin going on? Has Palin been claiming there were "gotcha" moments in the interview or are you just concluding that? Every time I have ever heard her discuss the matter she has admitted to sounding like an idiot. Maybe she has changed her stance though.

Every time I have ever heard her discuss the matter she has admitted to sounding like an idiot. Maybe she has changed her stance though. She says in the first video that she won't talk to Couric because of the types of questions she asked. Palin accused Couric of "gotcha moments" in one of her books.
November 23, 201015 yr She says in the first video that she won't talk to Couric because of the types of questions she asked. That is not what she said (but my stream was breaking up a bit). Palin said she has a bias against her and refuses to talk to her because of it. Probably true, but it makes Palin look weak-minded, which she does not have to work hard at. Bottom line is she embarrassed herself last time and knows the more she puts herself out there she may do it again.
November 23, 201015 yr If Palin is afraid to talk with Couric because of the questions she might ask, if elected president what's she going to do when she has to meet face to face with foreign leaders and dignitaries that won't answer her questions the way she wants? I'm tired of our leaders hiding behind "media bias" because they are afraid of the hard questions. I want a Nathan Jessup type leader who says "You want to ask me questions? Then roll the dice." I want a Bill Clinton type leader that gets in the face of Chris Wallace during an interview if he doesn't like a question. Not one who backs down or shys away. I want leadership. Sticking out head in the sand and hoping the problem just goes away is what's wrong with our country now.
November 23, 201015 yr I am not buying that she is gearing up to run for office like many believe. Very well may be the case, but most think it is a given and I am not seeing it that way. In my estimation all of the available evidence suggests she's going to run. I used to think she was just going to cash in on her celebrity, but the way she's focused her energy on being the face of the Republicans/Tea Party, her recent spate of self-promoting ads and the manner in which her PAC is being utilized, and her growing focus on Iowa all seem to suggest she's not willing to settle with reality shows. She's managed to insulate herself from answering hard questions by incessantly playing the victim and working almost exclusively with Fox News where she'll always be treated very favorably. She equates any challenge, dissent, or even tough questions to being unfair and biased attacks against her. She believes she is open and transparent because she posts on Facebook and Twitter. I've always thought that once she entered into the Republican primary and her Republican and conservative opponents stopped treating her with deference and took the gloves off she wouldn't be able to sustain this insulation. While I generally believe this, I'm beginning to be skeptical that her loyal followers could ever be swayed. Even though her poll numbers are the worst among Republicans, those that do favor her might do so under any circumstance, making her a more viable candidate than logic would suggest.
November 23, 201015 yr Did Obama do interviews with Fox in his run up to the campaign? I truly can't remember. If so, it wasn't many so you can avoid the tough questions and still get there.
