No love for The Band?
This could go on forever, gotta draw the line somewhere. :D

The Beatles - A Day in the Life; at the top of a huge list of great songs

Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven

Pink Floyd - On the Turning Away

Bob Dylan - The Times They Are A-Changin

Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion

Eric Clapton - Layla (technically Derek & The Dominoes, so sue me)

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

Elton John - Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding

The Who - tough call for me. I'll go with Love Reign Over Me by a whisker over Won't Get Fooled Again. But a shout out to My Generation because of Rock & Roll's iconic lyric - "I hope I die before I get old"

Tom Petty - Refugee

Rolling Stones - Sympathy For the Devil or Gimme Shelter

The Police - Every Breath You Take

Eagles - The Last Resort

Bob Seger - not crazy about Seger; I'll go with Roll me Away

Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run

AC/DC - heard one, heard them all. Long Way to the Top

Van Halen - Jump

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Who'll Stop the Rain

Chicago - Make me Smile

Grand Funk Railroad - Closer to Home

Kiss - Detroit Rock City

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Tuesday's Gone

ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man

The Allman Brothers Band - Whipping Post, Little Martha

Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower

Neil Young - Ohio

Although Cinnamon Girl, Down By the River, Out of the Blue, etc. could claim the top spot depending on the mood of the day.

Well, I would have included The Band before at least four you included, but that's me.

"The Shape I'm In" by The Band

"Powderfinger" by Neil Young (or "After The Gold Rush" if I'm feeling more mellow)

I can't believe I forgot Neil. :ohbrother:

Absolutely, make it 26 bands/artists.

I would say, overall, that my favorite Neil Young song is "Harvest Moon"...although it just won't do if you're looking for that Neil Young: Godfather of Grunge sound, so in that case I'd go with "Down By The River".

The Beatles-Penny Lane

Not gonna lie, I wouldn't have ever expected anyone to list that as their favorite Beatles tune.

The Beatles - While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven

Pink Floyd - Us & Them

Bob Dylan - Bob Dylan's Dream

Aerosmith - Dream On

Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

Elton John - Funeral For A Friend

The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again

Tom Petty

Rolling Stones -

The Police - Every Little Thing She Does

Eagles - I Can't Tell You Why

Bob Seger

Bruce Springsteen

AC/DC

Van Halen

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Fortunate Son

Chicago - Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?

Grand Funk Railroad - I'm Your Captian

Kiss

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home, Alabama

ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man

The Allman Brothers Band - Ramblin' Man

"The Shape I'm In" by The Band

"Powderfinger" by Neil Young (or "After The Gold Rush" if I'm feeling more mellow)

There's a few other bands I normally would have listed instead of others, I was trying to cover a slightly wider range. I'll probably come up with another list for another thread.
