not true! if you triangulate the distance from the camera to Vocke and the goalpost. Then measure the shadow cast by the light coming from each side of the field you will find that Vocke clearly crossed the plane of the goal line!

 

That must have been how the announcer on nkysports determined it was a terrible call.

This was a classic between two excellent NKY small school teams, each of which having a great shot at a big prize. "The Catch" has been described by folks who have reviewed the play multiple times as 'bang-bang' to 'a catch and two steps'. Both can't be right, but this illustrates difficlult the ref's job is making calls real time. The tough thing about being a FAN is that on occasion, you get that violated feeling. To bad 'the color guy' couldn't keep it togather any better. I'm pulling hard for BW, NCC, HHS & Ryle to make it to the finals and represent with class and performance.

Your absolutely right. Pass interference, fumbles, holding etc. can be argued each way in a lot of circumstances; however, if an official blows a field goal or extra point call, they shouldn't be allowed to ref another game. How easy is it to follow the ball and look up to see if it's wide or in? Enough said. Hats off to NCC for fighting back and tying game. They are by far the largest team Beechwood has played.

 

Niether official missed a call! They are well trained. 99/100 they're correct

Cable was there in the booth - showed the replay. The extra point was not good, The kid dropped the ball when it hit his hands - ball hit the ground. The replay showed he wasn't even in the endzone anyway. Un fortunately neither team will be happy with this one - BW knows they did not win, but NCC will get the loss. I have to believe the official had to see it but decided to make the wrong call.

 

Yeah that happens all the time. Matter of fact, the official decided that he want to screw up a game and this was it! Are you out of your mind? Walk a day in his shoes and make the call!

There is absolutely zero chance that an official standing directly under the upright is going to miss the call on a kick like that. Zero. That call is as easy as counting the finger on your hand. I saw no uproar from the Beechwood players on the field. If the kick was wide right, I guarantee you players on the field would have been upset.

 

Similarly, the official was in perfect position on the 2 point conversion and immediately put his hands up. I heard the background noise on the video of some guys doing the game on radio and they said their sideline guy who was right there on the goal line confirmed Vocke got in. I will go with the goal line official and reporter watching on the goal line over fans over 50 yards away.

 

That would be our crew. Our guy was right on the line and said that the ball crossed the plain before he got hit. The call was good. Our pictures and audio is up on our site now. Unfortunately, no video of our own for this game.

Also, I felt it was pretty classless by the scoreboard keeper to take off the 40 points immediately after the 2 point conversion and put up 0 for BW. I know it's a minor thing but IMO classless. Take off the 39 of NCC as well if you can't accept the fact you lost.

 

You do realizee this is a scorekeeper that has been doing games since 1977? No dog in the fight. I will 100% guaruntee this is coincedence, not classless. What does taking a score down after the game have to do with anything? I think both sides have agreed that sets of fans on both sides were classless now you are going after the score keeper?

Sure. it's common knowledge that officials intentionally make the wrong call ALL the time. It's always the official that decides the outcome of ALL close games. Unbelievable.
