Highlands 33 Scott 7

You know not whom you are speaking to Grasshopper. Sweep has forgotten more HHS Football than you will EVER know. Be careful who you chastise.

Exactly! That's why he doesn't need a 22 post JV Player to come on here and get his back.

Highlands will be fine and getting #20 the first weekend in December in Bowling Green.

Someone mentioned that this team has seemed "off" since the Eastern game. I would agree with that.

I am guessing that HHS' injury situation has played a significant role in the team being "off" for a few weeks. I have no doubts that the Highlands players know what Ryle will be bringing to the table Thursday night, and I think the 'Birds will rise to the occasion on both the practice field and at Ryle! Again, the Scott game (and being able to rest so many guys) couldn't have come at a better time for HHS. Go 'Birds!

Also, congrats to Scott for playing tough for 4 quarters. Frankly, I'm surprised Scott hasn't won more games this year, from what I saw on the video webcast.

I think all of us HHS fans should focus all our mental energy on supporting the team... that's probably what they need most as they near the end of the regular season! Go 'Birds!

You're exactly right "History". Coach Mueller could have won this game a 100 different ways, but instead rested a ton of people and took the opportunity to work on some things. Beating Scott 62-0 may have made some uninformed fans happy, but would not have made the team any better. Someone said last night that the last two games played by Highlands was an attempt on Dale's part to lull teams into playing the Birds next year.:D I'm kidding on the latter. I talked to a Scott coach after the game who is a very classy guy and very complimentary of Highlands players. Scott is an improved football team.

You don't know me either. Had to change my handle Bpiccolo. I have many years and many more posts on here. Way more than a Varsity player. I'm a huge HHS fan also. Just sticking up for my friend Sweep who has given more blood, sweat and tears to the progam over 40 years than almost anyone I can think of in the HHS community. Not trying to offend you.

I agree, Dale knows what he is doing. Support our team, they will be just fine!!!

No offense taken cricket91, glad you're a fan and I certainly am aware of Sweep's involvement in the program.:thumb:

Scott had minus 40 yards rushing in the 2nd half. Eleven starters didn't start for Highlands. Go to practices during the weak before you criticize "our" team and see how hard they worked going into this game. If anyone wants to say they were non emotional, maybe the fan support could have been a little bit louder to help them.

Bingo! You are exactly right. To all the Chicken Littles, the sky is not falling.:thumb:

Agreed 100% there JB, you are right on the money as usual. These are very tricky times for teams and programs that are striding their way through a 15 game season. Call it arrogant, call it whatever one wants, but Dales doesnt schedule 10 game seasons, he schedules 15 game seasons and this is a tall order and difficult task but I know our boys are up for the challenge and welcome it. Anyone who says it is easy to win and especially win State Championships are sadly mistaken, as there is a lot of luck involved as well. With the support of the Highlands faithful and positive comments and props for these Birds they will rise and prevail. Go Birds 20n10

BTW, havent had the chance yet to publicly thank you for the support of Highlands football, athletics and the school with your new website. Wow!

I dont like to hear excuses about starters being out, the Birds took care of business with their backups last night as they should. They have plenty of kids waiting in the wings for opportunities like last night. I think the offensive line is not as deep as most would like but in the end the job was completed and it was a W. If the Birds held the Eagles to negative yards rushing in the 2nd half then I would say it was a successfull night for the Defense.

Go Birds !!
