LCA - NCC Predictions

Featured Replies

That's an answer that I can respect and salute!! :thumb: :thumb:

Maybe not the right quote to use, but I believe to use the scores of NCC losing to Beechwood and LCA beating Beechwood is ludicrous. That was a rivalry, and I sincerely believe that Beechwood is in the heads of the Breds each time they play.

OK, I'm willing to listen and consider your position. If it had NOT been a rivalry, how much better would NCC have been than Beechwood in terms of ability? 1 TD? 2 TDs? More?

LCA's varsity was 30 points better than Beechwood. Is NCC better even than that? I'd like to hear why you think so.

NCC is going to have every game film from the Beechies and some words of wisdom from the Beechie coaching staff. Go Breds!

One thing you might also want to consider Bluto, is that when the Tigers played NCC, they had Baker and Reilly. They subsequently got hurt and did not play. I don't know how much of a difference it would have made, but it was a slightly different Beechwood team that played LCA than the one who played NCC.

Your point system probably looks good on paper, but it does not take into account player injuries and "in the head" kind of factors. On the other hand, you did predict last Friday's score...........so who am I to question?

I'm intrigued, Beechwoodfan. You seem quite reasonable in your posts. All I have to compare are the scores of the 2 games. You beat NCC by 1, yet LCA beat Beechwood by 30 (I'm not counting the last TD, JV on JV). That's a difference of 31 points.

What am I missing that causes you to reverse that into a 7 point NCC advantage (a 38 point swing in NCC's favor)?

I will even grant you a 7 point home field advantage for NCC.

Here is somting for you to throw into the paperwork, Bellview beat Beechwood NCC beat them 2 time once in the mud 14-0 once by 38 points.

Im having a great time watching them pull together and realize how good they are.

i cant wait for friday will be a good game :ylsuper:

I am sorry to hear about their injuries. I know that Reilly is a senior, and therefore his career is unfortunately over. I hope that's not the case with Baker.

Can't disagree with you about that! :thumb:

Revenge is obviously on the mind of this Tiger fan ? Wishful thinking I believe .No one will run away with this one .

No it's really not. I thought LCA would beat Beechwood by a large margin and I think they will beat NCC by a large margin as well. I think LCA is a better team.

Well LCA only beat Paris 28 to 14.NCC beat them 51 to 6 or something like that.

I look for a very close game decided late. I always root for the local teams so we give our support and the edge to the Breds. Should be a great game and good luck to NewCath.

49 - 13 LCA over Paris.

51 - 06 NCC over Paris.

It's hard to compare blowouts for this reason: each head coach is different as to when to "call off the dogs." Some of the factors in that decision could include:

-Time of year (early or late in the season)?

-Does the coach want to make some kind of statement?

-Is there "bad blood" between schools or coaches?

-Are there certain things the coach needs his varsity team to work on, no matter what the score?

-Is one team's JV better than the other's?

I'm sure that there are other issues involved.

Of this I am certain: neither NCC nor Beechwood "called off the dogs" in their game. LCA, on the other hand, DID call them off with over 6 minutes left.

Beechwood/ncc game is a rivalry game, so it doesnt matter who had the better team on paper, you look to much into stats. Going by your head to head games theory, Lca only beat Fairview by 2 tds, while that next week Beechwood beat them by 42 points. So according to your math Beechwood should have beat Lca by atleast 4 tds. (And obviously that didnt happen)

This game is about matchups, i think Ncc matches up with Lca and this one will be close.

My NewCath boys will take advantage of their opporunity to win in this position without Beechwood there. Also, they know a new tradition will start with Coach Schneider's kryptonite (Yeagle) leaving.

NewCath 24

LCA 14

Oh, how we will miss that wonderful bit of kryptonite! Good luck NCC!

Ok, I was wrong it was Raceland 28 to 14 over Paris.(I looked it up)

But you are wrong also. You say your certain NCC did not call off the dogs and you could not be more wrong. It was 37 to 0 when our JV went in with 3 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter. They never went back in.
