I hope SK does get into the NKY District. I couldn't care less if it's 5 teams and the last place team doesn't get to advance. SK has a nice program and SK-Ryle is a good rivalry. My only objection was their silly "Ryle is 14 steps closer to Lexington than we are" argument.

 

I agree, on ALL ACCOUNTS. I want to say I can't blame SK for trying because I can't, but leave out the mileage and go with minutes, because that was WEAK!

So playing Henry Clay this year was not to far away or cost to much money. But next year it will be?? Were talking 1 game a year and 2 games the next year driving to Lexington. SK can still play Ryle, Boone, Dixie, Campbell County and other teams from NKY. Who knows maybe even play Highlands. Or maybe stop playing teams like New Richmond.

I'm not sure SK wants any part of Highlands next year. I'm sure our favorite vacationing SK poster would try to twist it and say HHS doesn't want any part of SK, but there will be no Simpson or Lawrence next year.

Has it gone to the BOC yet? I may be wrong, but I thought the proposed alignment came from the commissioner's office and will be voted on by the BOC next week after they take into account the responses from the member schools.

It is certainly not a 'requirement'. But if you are trying build a program from the lower levels and trying maintain interest via school to school rivalries it would make a lot of sense to play Freshmen and JV games against your district opponents. Otherwise, what is the purpose of even a district structure?
