Agreed...guess I am thinking of an all-star game situation where the quality of depth favors KY this year.

Hey I'm with you. I pesonally think this year's NKY talent is nothing to write home about.

 

But when you have "potential" with the bigs in this years' class, you'll see a few of them head to a D2 school. Never said they'd be stars at a program.

 

D3 on the other hand, I could see several kids from our area making an impact immediately.

I believe a player that was missed and maybe the most underrated player is Scott High Schools guard Kellen Smith. For only being 6'2, he is scrappy and an assist machine, and definitely gets the job done. He makes my list.

I really like Kellen and think he is a great kid both on and off the court, but when you compare him to the 15 or so kids that have been mentioned in this thread, it's not even close.

 

All 15 of the kids I listed will be suiting up for a D1 program next year.

What about Jake Thelen? He averaged something like 19 points a game last year. And I believe had the most points as an individual in Kentucky?

Jake is a good player. I enjoy watching him work underneath.

I should add this. I think every player in the state , including Jake Thelen, has individual skills they do not work hard enough on especially if they want to play in college. Universal issue - comes with youth.

 

However, unlike many kids I've never once thought that Jake needed to "play harder." Kid shows up ready to bang and battle every night. That says a lot in my book.

If he isn't in the top 15 ,he's very close. Nice player.

Agreed not close to top 15. Lots of good players in the state ahead of him.

You could also make a case for Donovan Kates from Christian Co. and Manning from Scott Co.
