With the above players mentioned, is this the year we finally beat Indiana in the KY-IN All Star game?

 

 

Still not likely, but Indiana has taken a hit with some kids going the prep route. Teague, Branden Dawson, Cody Zeller, Mike Chandler and Dee Davis is an elite top 5 but their depth isn't like what they have in the 3 classes behind them. If they are going to sneak in a win this is the year...

Crazy to think that as talented as KY will be with Behanan, Taylor, Price, and Kimbro, Indiana has 5 guys that are as good or better than that group.

 

I still like KY to win this year though. They're loaded with depth when you add in Knipp, Zollo, Stenzel, Gaines, Abell, Woods, Fant, and Shanklin. Kentucky will basically field a team with ATLEAST 11 guys who are committed to a D1 program. When was the last time Kentucky had that much talent on one team? (And before you say it, yes I know that's a regularity with the Indiana squad every year)

Yup...

There are a lot of good players but none that are at this level. I think the real story line for NKY is the Sophs that get significant time. Off the top of my head, here are some who will start and lead their teams this year.

 

Christian McClendon - Holy Cross

Mason Monroe - Pendleton

Justin Saunders - Brossart

Niko Carter - Lloyd

Darius Meiman - St Henry

Nate McGovney - Campbell

 

Some may start but as far as leading? I only see Monroe and McGovney as the main focal point on their teams.

This is definetly a "down' year for nky basketball as far as individual talent goes.

 

A lot of D2-D3 players in this years' senior class but none that are capable of playing and making an impact at any level D1 school.

 

Travis Montgomery is being recruited by a school in the Patriot League. They have been in constant contact and have come to watch him at open gyms. So, apparently there are some kids in this senior class that may play at the DI level, but not a major DI.

I like this list with the exception of Ivey from Scott County and Setty from Mason. While they are no doubt very good players neither are in the top 15 in the state. I might put Setty in my next 10 and Ivey after that. Ivey still has plenty of time to be talked about in the next couple of years though!

 

I just think Setty is very talented and will have a big year. Also, I saw Ivey this summer and he looked very good! I hink hes going to have a big year. It will be fun to see how it shakes out!

Agreed...guess I am thinking of an all-star game situation where the quality of depth favors KY this year.
