You think the birds handled Ryle? Up at half and two turnovers that led to scores don't spell a handleing, but they did win that time. If the question is how much better is Highlands than Cov Cath, the answer is much better.

The point was for as much as Ryle whipped CCH it must say a lot about how good Highlands is with their win over Ryle. I didnt say manhandle just handled them so lets not twist the post.

NKY coach's poll has Highlands #1, Ryle #2, Boone, Dixie, & New Cath tied @ 4th.

Looks like Maxpreps thinks Highlands is like totally awesome as well. Birds come in at 21st with Lou St X trailing at 25th. Other notable is Cinti Colerain at #10. I have one question? The schedule that Dupont Manual plays is flat out sick. Why would they subject themselves to this. Go Birds 20n10

 

And did you forget that Cov Cath got crushed 61-7? They'll have to win more than 1 game to overcome that licking in my rankings. And actually their 7 on 7's were weak. I'm also surprised by their lack of #s on the sidelines. That may be detrimental down the line. D

 

They're dressing about 65. Not enough?

The team I think is rated too highly by many is Conner. They may prove me wrong but it would not surprise me to see them battling tooth and nail with Cooper to stay out of the district cellar, and even very possibly losing to Cooper.

Could be. Maybe they were just pulling one of Dale's tricks and pretending that they couldn't pass the ball. ;-)

In reality I think they're behind in the passing and coaching games, about equal in the running game. They depend too much on the big strike via Elliott and he can't do it all by himself. I'd consider them a legitimate #2 and wouldn't keel over dead if they did beat Highlands in week 10, but they've got a ways to go.

Scott scrimmaged Campbell and played a game against Conner. Although one was a scrimmage and the other was a real game, Conner looked much better than Campbell County. I think Conner may be a little better than what people are thinking this year. I'll get a gauge on Cooper since Scott plays there this Friday night. 6A should be very competitive this year.

When people begin mentioning Bellevue, Newport, Lloyd in a top 15.................i think the dark horse for the top 15 maybe Brossart this year. Now I realize they have played two bad teams but they may be able to sneak up on a few people. Time will tell but they would be my pick for a team off the radar cracking a top 15 poll.

Also............if you are a 5A school and you cannot make a Top 15 poll you have serious issues (see Scott).
