It wasn't even close. Votto didn't even come close to going around.

So you'd rather let a batter who is prone to striking out take a pitch right down the middle when he has the ability to hit it 450 feet and tie the game? You'd rather trust Stubbs to either get a base hit/walk, then steal a base, then either ANOTHER hit or two productive outs get him home than give him a chance to tie the game on a pitch right down the middle?

Brillant....

Brilliant, that comment blows me away. You would prefer to let him try to hit a HR which he does 3.7 % of the time he comes to the plate than let him try to get on base which he does 30% of the time. I want you in my casino playing all the long odd bets. In that situation I would rather see him try to lay down a bunt and rely on what he does best and that is run. When he does get on he steals a base 88% of the time, 22-25.

When the pitch is a straight heater in the zone, not at all. Swinging at a bad first pitch is one thing. Taking a cut at a very drivable one? Take the hack, it might be the only one you see...

Ever try to hit a straight heater out of the park?

If he does get on base, you'd either have to trust him to steal or trust someone to get a bunt down. Then someone else would have to get a hit. Against a closer, its a lot easier to hit a solo homerun then string a couple hits together. If you don't understand that, I don't know what to tell you. I'll trust the opinion of a Major League manager over yours any day of the week. If Dusty wanted him to take a strike, Stubbs would have taken a strike.

Stubbs back to leadoff? Every thing is lining up perfect for the Reds to go back to their losing ways like the first 3 or 4 weeks of the season. Maybe they can start playing Prince's 1999 at the ballpark after the games.

Dodgers 5.5 out in W/C. Watch out for them:lol:

Until BP gets back....

Not a fan of bunting in the first inning...

Takes away the big inning.

That is true, and I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that they are done but it hasn't been since 1995 since the Dodgers played in the post season.

True. That's the past. Hang on to that if you want to live in the past. The present and future are where Reds fans are hangin their hats.
