Track the Reds (2nd Half, Week 7)

While I agree with both of you, we all know that history is on Albert's side. If the voter's voted today, I bet Albert would win simply because of his resume'. To think that the voters don't take that into consideration is probably giving them way too much credit.

I didn't get to watch the game Saturday or Sunday, but glad to hear that CoCo went 1-2-3 yesterday.

I hung out with my buddy from St. Louis all weekend. Definitely had some friends giving him a hard time lol. Be nice to take two out of three from the Giants too.

These guys are so much fun to watch. Bronson keeps getting it done without touching 90 MPH. Love to see real pitcher's.

That's only because you couldn't break 84.:p

I agree 100% Crash. Hope his string of putting up spectacular #s in September continues.

If anyone not named Joey Votto or Albert Pujols wins it, the voters should be put down....

Absolutely right. Hilarious that they refer to Votto as an MVP candidate--as though it's a surprise to anyone. Unless someone completely tears up September and leads their team to a sweeping comeback, or maybe solidifies their team's playoff position, it's either Votto or Pujols.

Yep. The only other guy that could possibly work his way into contention is Ryan Howard, and that would only happen if he blows up and the Phillies overtake Atlanta.

It was a deceiving 84.

I agree that MVP will go to the division winner. I feel like if it's that close on their stats that's the only way to legitimately choose between the two.

Couple observations from today's game:

1) Votto is about the most clutch hitter I've seen in a long long time. Just a boss.

2) Arroyo is getting darn close to automatic. 6-7 IP, 2-3 R max every outing. He's been en fuego!

3) I've never seen a hitter look as completely hopeless at the dish as Gomes has for the best month or so...He's been downright embarrassing.

4) Those of you clamoring for Heisey to be seeing more playing time, got a first-hand example of why he hasn't. Rough day for the talented youngster.

5) Boy am I glad Kershaw "owned" the Reds today.

6) I'm really going to miss the comments from the other planet that Patrick Starr lives in this week. :D

7) I really really hope I get to sport a new avatar after Wednesday, and at this point, I see no reason to think I won't be.

Was thinking the same thing. He keeps reminding me of Pedro Cerrano. "Bats, they are sick. I cannot hit curveball. Straightball I hit it very much. Curveball, bats are afraid."

It's going to be real tough trying to stay up for this Giants series. I still haven't recovered from last week. I may have to take a vacation day.:sssh:

I thought it was kind of selfish for me to think that I can't wait until this west coast swing is over because I'm exhausted.

It's official. I just took a vacation day tomorrow. That means I can meet spindoc Tuesday afternoon, and he can buy me lunch. Thank goodness Wednesday is an afternoon game.

I'm jealous. I'll be dragging butt tomorrow, again.

Although, I'm really not too jealous of lunch with spindoc. I'll pack a bologna sandwich.

Since I don't believe in superstitions, I thought I'd be perfect to start the thread...:D

And Spindoc, come Wednesday I hope I'm seeing a new avatar when I log in. :thumb:

By the way, I've requested from theguru that you face a two week suspension if the Reds have a bad week. LRCW should've been all over this one.

I'll second that.
