Birds will have legit 6'7 Stewart, 6'5 Towles and 6'5 True in the frontcourt. Crowley looks a solid 6'3 as well at the 2G and he has really stepped up his offensive aggressiveness. Egan at 6'2 can bury 3''s on ya also. This group can sneak up on some teams if overlooked.

Not disputing what you are saying, but the Birds had a very poor showing last year, and perhaps will be overlooked a little this season because of that.

Holmes will have decent size:

 

6'1 Hayes

6'2 Gray

6'4 Nelson

6'5 D. Rice

6'6 K. Rice

 

Covcath will also have some decent size with 6'5 Connelly and 6'6 Thelen down low. I believe they have a few other solid players who are in the 6'4-6'5 range as well.

 

Boone will also be pretty solid in the post with 6'4 Brown and 6'5 Montgomery.

 

Highlands will have a solid front court as well with 6'6 Stewart and 6'5 True.

 

AS stated in a previous post, the top 6 or so teams match up pretty evenly.

 

Conner seems to have the most size in the front court with 6'8 Hodges and 6'7 Robinson.

 

I didn't realize HAyes was 6'1". He will be a force this year with his speed and leaping ability.

I certainly agree with you and they struggled with injuries and a couple kids just not buying into the system Flynn brought in. This group is clearly Flynn's group and I watched them play this summer at team camps (without Towles). They hung tough with some top level Cincinnati schools and I was very impressed with the big 6'5 Frosh Nick True's improvement. He has gotten a step faster and really runs the floor well for a big. I see him getting some nice minutes this year in the paint and there are a few Sophs that bring a lot of athleticism to the Birds and can play well in transition.

 

Im sure they would rather be ranked at the bottome ten and surprise some teams rather than be highly ranked like they were last year. They have a very tough schedule I will say so it wont be easy either way.

Hayes had a great summer with the Bulldogs but i'd get your tape measure out on all the Holmes boys.

 

A wise coach told me once, you never embellish a player's height, if anything you show them in the program smaller than they are not taller.

I agree 100%...see Holmes the year they made it to the state title game in 08. Their biggest player was Elijah Pittman at 6'4-6'5.

Saw Crabtree a lot this summer and has really improved his offensive game. Boone will be deep on the front line but guard play will make or break this team.

If Holy Cross can develop an inside game they will be a pretty solid team this year. With the two transfers McClendon and Mike ? from Cincinnati to go along with Berger their leading scorer last year. This gives them 3 solid scoring options on the floor at one time. The kid from Cincinnati can get to the rack and score and McClendon and Berger will also be scoring threats on the perimeter. I dont know what they have in the paint but look for them to be much improved with the new additions. Maybe Avery even gets bumped up to play some VArsity and run the point, he has some serious handles.

The kids from Cincy did not get in to Holy Cross, rumor has it that they are either Crusaders, Eagles or Camels. I have not heard yet.

That is kind of a large area. Do they pick a school and then move there? Are they related as well?
