Track the Reds (2nd Half, Week 5)

They're in this now to solely beat the Cards now and I think it's good for the team. Gives em a little kick start and extra incentive to play the rest of the season out like it's their last. I think we're going to see a tougher team also.

That needs to start today.

They certainly didn't enjoy losing last night's game. They'll come to play.

We all know the youth this team has and you always hear the phrase "learn how to win" and you figure this series will not only help this team not just this year, but going into next year as well.

It warrants the same suspension. Especially when it was obvious he was trying to free himself from the netting. It wasn't like he was trying to hurt anyone.

What do you feel the appropriate suspension would be? Eternity, like La Russa?

You don't kick someone in the head period, especially with metal cleats on. The only insane thing is thinking it warrants the same punishment as a punch.

I don't know him personally, so its hard to comment. But I give him the benefit of the doubt that the didn't intentionally kick him in the face. More just swining his feet wildly to protect himself, not a good excuse, but I just don't think it was intentional.

I guess I missed the part where these fights had rules...:idunno:

I'll ask again, since you think 5-10 games is too leinent...How many would you be satisfied with?

Molina's in the lineup....If Arroyo has him up with 2 outs in the 2nd, I think he needs to put one between his numbers. Not for the altercation yesterday, but for his mocking of BP as he circled the bases after his HR.

Classic case of getting in someones head. They whine, they get you emotional enought o spout of in the media, they get you to brawl on the field, and then they smile as you implode. Classic.

Larussa is a master at this. Phillips and the Reds played right into his hands.

I love Gomes' quote on Cueto's kicking...."If you don't want to get kicked, don't be within kicking distance..."

Ty Cobb would say between the temples...

Good point. The guy was fearful for his well-being. Fight or flight response... Maybe he felt he was pinned, couldn't flee, and did whatever he could for his perceived safety.

Oh, so you don't have a problem with bring a bat from the dug out with you then.

Go back and read my post again and you won't have to keep asking.

Not at all. If I'm going to engage in a fight, I'm fighting to hurt the other guy. If a bat helps me accomplish that, then you better believe I'm bringing one with me.
