August 11, 201016 yr I wonder what our reaction would be if we were not red or cardinal fans. Probably woudn't pay much attention to be honest. I would tune in to see the fight on ESPN, but other than that, wouldn't care.
August 11, 201016 yr He didn't have the opportunity to either. He was pinned much tighter and couldn't get his legs up even if he wanted too. I like Carpenter's intensity and he's a great ball player, but after his antics Monday night, I don't think that he has much room to ever talk about someone's professionalism. Monday night was so blown out of proportion it's ridiculous. Ryan even said after it was his fault, that he had been hitting, didn't realize the Cards were in the field, ran out but couldn't find his glove, so he got Miles to give him his glove, then Miles found Ryan's, so that is why time was called. Ryan said he was embarrassed but furious that they caught him and Carp's meeting on camera b/c Carp was trying to keep it out of the spotlight. Said it is not a big deal and him and Carp are buddies.
August 11, 201016 yr Say what you wish, in the end I will take actually winning vs. talking about winning everytime. Until the Reds can handle the Cards(St. Louis has won 9 and the Reds 5 in head to head this season), they need to keep their mouths shut!

Most of the comments about the fight in this thread make me laugh. The fact is Phillips is a punk. He ran his mouth then tried to act like nothing happened. When he came up to bat he should have just step in and never said a word to Molina. The blame stops squarely with him.
