I want to make a comment on the cheating allegations made about Rockcastle. I do not know for sure what happened, because I was not there. BUT...

 

AT41, you said you'll trust your sources, and Rockhardkid can trust his? I'm pretty sure Rockhardkid said he talked TO Coach Larkey (Head coach of the Rockets) and that Larkey said there was no fine. I'm pretty sure Larkey would be aware of a fine on his team for cheating, wouldn't he?

 

I can also give this information. I played football at Rockcastle all four years of my high school career and I NEVER witnessed cheating by a Rockcastle coach or player. I did notice that we worked as hard, or harder than any team in the state during the regular season, and when the playoffs rolled around we worked even HARDER. I started defense too and I KNOW we NEVER stole any signs from any team we ever played. I honestly doubt that any Rockcastle coach or player ever stole any signs from Ashland. I think these allegations are completely bogus and are probably an excuse for why the game was so close when maybe it shouldn't have been.

 

And this explains Ashlands success when we started running in our plays how???

Rockcastle's players and coaches know that Ashland has a real good football team. We also have a lot of respect for them and know it will be very hard to win there. By seeing game film I htink the Ashland QB is on eof the best players in the region and that Ashland has a real good defense, might be better than their offense. Everyone in Rockcastle knows how tough it will be. Lets talk about the players and quit beating a dead subject. Since most don't know the whole story dont speculate on what is TRUE and what is NOT. How many people do you think will be at the game Friday?

I don’t believe that it was the Ashland players that were laying on the ground crying after last year’s game. They were too busy dancing and celebrating their victory.

 

Does this story about cheating coaches have anything to do with this year’s game? No, it only serves as a little background story to add spice for the fans enjoyment – to help us savor the upcoming game.

 

Rockcastle has a very solid football team. They are fully capable of wining if we don’t take care of business. I think that Ashland's player and coaches will take care of business Friday and get the victory in regulation play.

This reminds me of the time when a basketball coach watched the first half game film at halftime. Anyone else remember that?

 

Rockcastle has a quality program and I am looking forward to watching the game on Friday. I think Ashland wins and I hope they do. It is a shame that someone has little else to do other than continue to bring up what supposedly happened last year. I don't think that Ashland's players or coaches need any additional motivation. This is a playoff game, win or go home. Drop the "everyone cheats us" crap. Move on, enjoy the ride, this is as enjoyable an Ashland team to watch play as any I can remember.

Nothing wrong with a good old fashion grudge. I've got a couple of them myself. :thumb: My point is that this game really doesn't need any additional spice. For seniors their careers are on the line. I'm sure they could care less about stolen hand signals from last year.

 

Certain posters, yourself not included, seem to cry foul often. I just hate to see every Ashland fan portrayed as a crybaby.

As to your belief that the seniors don’t care about last year: I can only speak for the one that lives in my house. You might be surprised by the grudge my son bears for Rockcastle (I’m afraid it’s a family tradition).

 

Of course, he is in a position to do something about it on the field. I just get to write these silly posts on BGP – all in good fun.

 

I wish I could tell you what I did to rile him up for the Boyd Co. game.

Seriously I think this will be a great game. As we get deeper and deeper into the play-offs the games will get tighter and tighter. All in all I think this game will be within a TD either way.

 

Good Luck Tomcats and let's see if we can get the AA and the AAA championships brought to the east.
