Well said. This is going to be a great season of basketball. I can't wait to see it unfold.

At the Scott County Hoopfest -

Shelby played Berea, and Shelby struggled with anything Berea did defensively in the full court. They look like they have some young players with some talent so the future looks pretty bright for Shelby.

Walton played Cooper. Walton looked a little sloppy at times. Overall they played decent for their first time out. I thought Freshman Shelby Mullikin gave Walton some very good minutes.

Today Collins, Williamstown, Carroll Co and Owen Co play.

I looked at the Shelby Co. roster today at the hoopfest and they have mostly 8th graders. Did all the older players go to Collins? Saw Collins play and recognized alot of the girls from last year.

Shelby should be their starting point guard. She is a true point and with the others they are going to sturggle against the better teams. Just because she is a freshman doesn't mean that she can't do the job.

Absolutely agree - she did a great job!

I concur with you and Madman...put Mullikin at the point and Walton would be much improved at the point

I agree but probably won't happen. I thought the Lay girl was a better option at point guard last year and I don't think she got a lot of playing time. When your starting off the year with a point guard that lead your team in turnovers last year your heading down the same road. You will beat teams with average guards and struggle against teams with solid quick backcourts. Again this is not a knock on Hoffa she's a good player and I think would be great in the 4 spot.

I agree that it won't probably happen and it might end up costing Walton a regional title. It is truly amazing that Walton's coaching staff can't see the obvious.
