Then why didn't they win the regular season? And why did the Cavs run over them in 6 games? Just because they had bigger name players doesn't mean they were the better team. The records prove who was a better team.

I believe Vince Carter has proved what he is all about in the post-season. I would take Larry Hughes in that situation.

 

I think you could argue that season all 8 of the Western Conference playoff teams (and the #9 team) were all better than Cleveland. It was not a shock that the Cavs were swept, and swept easily. On the other hand, it was not a shock the Cavs made the finals as a 2 seed in the East. The Spurs were a 3 seed. Still a big accomplishment.

I have been a Heat fan since inception in I believe 1988. My first NBA game in person was the Heat and I got to see about 20 games over the first couple of years in Miami. With the Heat signing Bosh and James I am excited for what it can bring but I have never been a real big fan of James and some of his antics. I love DWade however and hope this thing can work out. I did not care at all for the way this whole "Special" went down but I don't think that he owes Cleveland anything. He gave them 7 good years and they should move on and try to build a good franchise without him. I think the Cavs owner has done some real damage with the things that he has said however.

All of that sounds like an excuse to me. Kobe has always played with better talent? Well some of us are born to rich parents and never have to work a day in our lives, that doesn't excuse those people from needing to be positive members of society. LeBron was dealt a crappy hand, but so was Jordan. I don't want to hear Chicago is a better market, because before Jordan the Bulls were a joke. Before LeBron the Cavs were a joke. LeBron is 25, do you mean to tell me that in the next 3 years Cleveland would not have got him that next piece he needed to take the next step? LeBron got payed millions to play for an organization that tried it's best to win. It is tougher in Cleveland, but wouldn't that make it more worthwhile if he had been able to get a 'ship or 3?

 

Please don't tell me you buy the crap he fed that a title in Miami would be just as sweet as one in Cleveland.

 

Cleveland has had 7 YEARS to get him a supporting cast. They luck-boxed and won the lottery in 2003 and the best wingman he had was a washed up Antwan Jamison and a 7 footer who shoots flat-footed 3s. This is just like when Manning won a super bowl when he actually got a run defense. This is like Elway winning one when he got a decent running game. When Kobe was being put down cause he hadn't won a title w/o Shaq and got handed Gasol. He made it to the finals with his 2nd option being LARRY HUGHES. And yes the west was a lot better, but it's still the NBA and he ran through the east by himself basically.

There are so many instances when super stars are criticized their whole careers and finally get decent teammates and win...wonder why???

 

Lebron played as hard as he could for 7 seasons for that franchise and you never heard ONE WORD of negativity from him. He didn't criticize anyone or complain or demand to be traded(Kobe). He never got in trouble and did his job, which he should do and should be expected. He finished out his contract and signed with another team because he wants to win and that's his best opportunity. If he goes to New York, then everyone said all he wants is money. If he stays in Cleveland, there is a great chance he will be 31 with bad knees and no title. He takes less money to go to Miami and win, and people say he is a sell out when he is actually the exact opposite. He has shown that winning IS the most important thing to him because he is going to take criticism and have haters now whether he wins or lose.

 

And I'm not saying LeBron is better than Kobe, because I think it's to early to tell. But compare what kobe did with a similar supporting cast as Lebron in the few years after Shaq left(2003/2004/2005).

How do we know what is most important to him. Does he see this as a chance to be on a great team or an easy way to a championship? That's why it's up for debate. I'll take the latter because nothing he has done this off-season says otherwise other than the fact that he took less money. Taking less money is not really that big a deal for LeBron because he makes money hand over fist off the court.

I really don't think Lebron realized how dumb it was to go on ESPN and do that. Someone said WWW tried to tell him it may not be a good idea but Lebron wanted to do his own thing. Looking back on it years from now he will probably realize it wasn't a good move.
