Cabera's bat has been very cold lately. Thats a good point. Maybe take him out of the 2 spot in the order and that will help him?

Just a thought cause Stubbs can't play everyday in the OF and his bat is really weak right now. Player A 11 HR, 43 RBI, 47 Runs, 17 SB, .235 Avg Player B 11 HR, 45 RBI, 41 Runs, 5 SB, .251 Avg Which player do you like? It isn't an easy decision and you could make an argument in favor of either one. Player A is Stubbs and Player B is Jason Heyward. Stubbs is getting no love in Cincinnati. Heyward is voted into the All Star game and he arguably shouldn't even win Rookie of the Year over Stubbs if you factor in defense. Food for thought.

Heyward's OBP and SLP are each more than 50 points higher than Stubbs ... he's a much better hitter. And he will be a much better player, given the age difference ... Heyward has much more potential for growth and improvement.

July 12, 201016 yr 100% true. But this year is not a big difference. Heyward will no doubt be a star and is already an absolute studYes, there is a difference ... 100+ points of OPS is a huge difference. In this case, it's the difference between an above-average hitter and a below-average hitter.

Cabrera has looked a little tired lately but is a career .273 hitter and will probably end up around that number if Dusty can get him the rest he will need. After the break the Red's play 13 games before a day off but then get a day off every week for the next 5 weeks. They do have a big stretch of 20 straight games without a day off in September but the cooler weather should help the players by then.

Cabrera has definitely lost a step or two. He can make most of the routine plays but doesn't have a lot of range anymore.
