HHS did "win" the 7 on 7 today because of the early fast start they had. 3 straight TDs to start will always help that out. One thing I was impressed with was how well the kids from Sk were being coached. On every single play the coaches were on them and they seemed to respond the right way. It was encouraging to see that. Even though they lost today Sk should be a pretty good team as the season goes along. As long as they fix the lineman problem which after talking to a coach seems to be their biggest problem, they could be a good team this year. Just as others as said on here and I agree please just beat Ryle.

Towles was very impressive with the long ball. He had touch and reminded me of the passing HHS QB of not to long ago. I am sure his QB coach is having fun. The HHS receiving corp has speed made some really good plays but still prone to drops (I am sure the staff is working with them). Chad Lawrence is a skilled QB; but not close in ability to Mr. Towles. He has a different skill set. He is a very good QB run first, without a vertical passing game. They have some receivers but he missed many open targets over 20+ yards. SK best skill set is the LB group. They have one that went shirtless that looks to be the run stopper (not great in coverage). Sorry no numbers so any SK fan please help with post. Mr tight white U/A was very good in coverage (skilled player) and the last boy who was impressive for SK was the gray shirt that finished the scrimmage at QB for the Pioneers in mop up duty. Very good ball hawk skills. HHS defense was very strong but still room for improvement. A couple of receivers were running free in the secondary but Chad missed a handful of targets on the 20+ long ball. Lofland was a step behind on a couple but always around the play. New had a great break up on the stadium side, but bit on an out and up on the other. Some young folks working in the secondary but I am certain they will be ready...

I think it's already been established on BGP that there are no "winners" and "losers" to these passing competitions. Given that both these programs will be strong in NKY this year, I suspect each squad benefitted from being challenged by the other in the competition today.

 

Plus, with all the intra-squad practicing these kids are doing, I have to think it's a nice change-up for the guys to play against different players from other teams in these kinds of competitions!

So, does Highlands have just one more 7-on-7 competition this summer, against Holmes? When is this happening?

I think it's already been established on BGP that there are no "winners" and "losers" to these passing competitions.

 

It seems that opinions vary, normally the winner thinks it's pretty important and the loser thinks it's not very important.

 

Personally, I don't think it matters who wins, it's more about the experience gained, but that's just me.

Obviously you were a no show again! If you are going to follow your program from a far; you better get your info straight. Ask your buddy Chad how many TD's he completed? Mr. Towles had 5 before my rear got wet on the bleachers..(which was early). SK had a good showing and will be better than some are expecting. I was hoping you would fill us in on the players that did look good for SK; but instead you want to throw stones. 7 on 7 is just to get ready for the season and we don't count wins and losses in July and as others had stated it is just a passing competition; however since you posted HHS touched pay dirt many more times than SK.
