I'd be willing to deal Wood for the right price. He pitched very well today, and the Reds have developed the pitchers (and the attitudes) to be successful in GABP.

One has to believe that someone or two in that list is trade bait. They are not gonna stay at triple A 3 or 4 years. So who is the most likely to be traded? My guess is Bailey

I agree with everything you say, except - I am ok with trading Bailey. I think he has been given emple chances to demonstrate improvement and more consistency at the major league level. IMO I do not think he has done that, and not sure he ever will. For that reason, I have no problems if they trade him.

If you feel that way about him, what do you think opposing scouts feel? Why would they try and trade for him?

I would imagine that there are some that have the same feeling as me, and they would not trade for him probably, unless they feel their pitching coach could help him. However, based on the number of guys on here who think very highly of Bailey, maybe there are some scouts who feel the same way they do! Trade with them! :lol:

You almost always hate to trade a good young lefty unless the trade brings value longer term. They just don't come along everyday and you really can use a lefty in your rotation.

I agree. And what comes with a wealth of young arms is the ability to make a deal to get what you need for the present. I say if a deal is what gets you to the playoffs, you pull the trigger. You still have enough youth in reserve for the future. Quite frankly waiting for the future has become quite exhausting.

No chance IMO. That's why the Haren trade would be a much better and more viable option IMO.
