May 14, 201016 yr There is no chance he goes to the Clippers. That's what people said about the Bulls when I brought it up a few months ago. It's a very outside chance but: huge market, money available, enough talent to win big early, and he could help decide the coach.
May 14, 201016 yr I think if he goes to the Nets it won't be until they are in Brooklyn which is another two seasons away. It's the Bulls/Cavs/Knicks...................really outside chance to the Clippers. That may play in to it as well. I just think if you have LeBron, Harris, Lopez, and a top 4 pick they could be as good as him on the Bulls.

True, but Noah mocked his dancing, talked constant smack to him, and disrespected Cleveland when he was there in the playoffs. I could see Lebron not wanting to go to Chicago for the simple reason that he doesn't want to see Noah succeed.

Someone like Noah might be his key to obtaining a ring.

Not that I think Noah would be a deciding factor in his decision to go or not go to Chicago, but it does get me thinking about comraderie... It seems that for the most part, this Cleveland team got along great and had a great time playing basketball. Will this be the same story for Lebron on his next team? And if so, will that help or hurt him in his quest to win a championship? I wonder if there extreme playfullness this year hurt them in terms of toughness because they were obviously softer than the Celtics. Or does any of this have nothing to do with winning?
May 14, 201016 yr I don't think New Jersey has much of a chance. Sure they may get the #1 pick, be able to package Harris for more help, and have Lopez but I still think if he goes to NY it's to the Knicks. The Bulls could have him, Rose and Noah, and use Deng, Hinrich or Gibson in a sign and trade. Give me a line up of LeBron, Rose, Noah, Bosh and Hinrich, and I don't think any other situation can offer the same kind of team overall. By moving Deng, they may have some money to sign some decent role players too. I could take LBJ going to Chicago, and I just don't see the benefit of leaving Cleveland for NY or NJ. As for playing in Jordan's shadow, I don't see that as horrible situation. Were Shaq and Kobe intimidated to play for the Lakers after legends such as Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, Kareem, and Magic had played there? How about KG, Allen and Pierce in Boston? I just don't see why that would matter to someone of James' caliber.

For HT, Cats, or anyone else that knows the answer b/c I'm too lazy to look and don't know the rules. Could he sign a 1 year deal w/ the Bulls or anywhere else and do this all over again next year? If after that one year could he sign a max deal w/ the new team? Thanks.

You want the 3 years so that you can get more money (and years) out of the max deal, if you decide to stay with your current team due to Bird Rights. He could sign w/ Cleveland this year for 6 years and about 120 million or with a new team for 5 years and 98 million.
