There are approximately 300-400 enrolling freshman each year @ Trinity & X each...give or take on any given year. There are FAR many more than that in 8th grade in Catholic grade schools each year.

Well, I'm not anyway. Some of the Bros play with the cameras, but that's the extent of it.

 

Although an exceptionally high percentage of guys that were upperclassmen with me are working toward coaching positions.

I would say that X and T are a little better than average at the top. I have family that went to Manual, it is a great school, although I feel they really target the top and exist with the bottom. I am not saying that they are bad but why cross the river for them when the public education in the southern Indiana area is pretty good. They cross the river for Catholic Education

 

 

Look list the kids that cross the river and play football and are catholic 8th graders!!!! I guess the starting RB for T wanted that catholic education, He never goes to I catholic mass on sunday I know were he goes, and to the post by rock mom but You think it is easy to recruit that have to pay. I am sure the kid that cross the river and who are not catholic get finial aid, plus work study plus sponsership, which probably adds up to 0.0000. Of course we can prove the Aid and work study but Never can prove the sponsership.

 

THis is what gets me>>> If I was a catholic Parent who didnt make that much money who busted my butt just to send my kid to Catholic grade school, and to see a kid from a non-catholic school and NOT EVEN CATHOLIC get to go to X and T Cheaper and sometimes through Sponsership, free. Why because he can run faster or tackle better then My CATHOLIC SON. who has been raised in the chruch all of his life, but not that fast but a good football player and a great Catholic kid. Where I get 500.00 for the year and maybe another 1000.00 through work study. The kid that can run faster and tackle better gets to pay alot less. trust me I know we have a St X. transfer who was not Catholic went to Newbreg and all of a sudden could afford St. X, and never thought about X untill they called him his 8th grade year, where he just happened to be the best running back for a public school league. He payed only 300 a month which is 3600.00 a year, quite a lot cheaper then my kid. And he said there were other players that payed less and who all were non catholic. So Me as a parent busting my butt and have been catholic and true all and all have to pay more then the athelete who can run faster, TO ME THAT IS A SLAP IN THE FACE. Not only do they get more of a discount many times the school finds transportation for the non-Catholic kid that can tackle better. Well as a Catholic parent I would be up there so fast and complain untill they gave my kid the same discount. But people turn their head and dont want to believe the truth. Does that situation make you mad????? It would me Especialy after all of these catholic grade schooler are going to puplic high schools, ask them if they only payed the same as the top Non catholic athlete, et 100% would go to a catholic high school. But they cant because they dont run and jump as good as a non-catholic kid down the road. That is a same, is the reason why catholic school kids for the majority go to public school. If X and T took care of their own 1st, instead of the five or six non-catholic athlete. There is "Catholic education" available on the other side of the river ... Providence. So there must be other reasons ...

 

Providence could not hold water to X and Trinity as schools, plus it is Co-Ed, that is a big reason for many to attend across the river.

here is the question, How many are playing football and are stars "none" We have a kid who is 5'8 160 starts OG and LB and he would have went to T and X if they gave him the same deal they gave another Non-Catholic player. But they didnt so we get him because they couldnt afford T or X but would have went if it only would have cost 300.00 a month. he was not tagged in 8th grade as superstar status thus would have gotten the 500.00 discount. probably never would have even see the feild at X or T. But we play and still compete with T and X rejects. Which is fine by me.

 

Now How many Non Catholic or public school kids play for X or T and are SUPER STARS ho I say More then 6, but they are there because of the education.

Let me tell you about ME as a parent. My son played grade school ball, in a Catholic grade school, and goes to Trinity and played there. He became a receiver entering Trinity. Guess what, one of the best receivers on the team isn't Catholic....the others went to Catholic grade schools. So, what did we do as a family? We let him play. We watched him go from a 3rd stringer freshman year, to a starting spot his Sophomore year, while some of the others dressed varsity. Do you know what we did then? We let him play.

 

You want to know what HE did? He worked his butt off to improve his skills, improve his speed, learn the system. Did he complain about anyone ahead of him talent-wise, or because of their religion? NO! Did we think one thing about those kids being there, or why they chose Trinity? NO! He did his part, and worked hard to do what it took to earn his playing time. We did our part and supported our son in his efforts, and supported his/our team in their efforts.

 

If we didn't qualify for financial aid, it's not the fault of the kid who did. We knew what the cost would be, and we made the concessions to make that happen. To me, Trinity took care of one of their "own"....a kid in their school, who wanted to attend, but needed some financial aid to do so. By golly, I'm proud to say to say they did!

 

Let me add this....it's a SLAP IN MY FACE that you think financial aid should be determined on the basis of one's religion. It's a SLAP IN MY FACE, that you imply entrance to Trinity should be determined by religion. It's a SLAP IN MY FACE that you think our running back isn't attending mass as he should. Maybe he went to another church, or another mass time. It's a SLAP IN MY FACE that you imply playing time should be determined by religion.

I know the player you speak of very well and as a teammate of his planned to and had family attend X he was around that very often and got a taste on his own. I know that fact. One of his coaches at HP played at X and is also non Catholic African American private school grad and maybe he told him of his experiences. Although that Catholic Family may not be as wealthy as most they still have more money than the full aid students. You have to have all social classes and colors to make an environment diverse enough to be a great learning environment. Those kids catholic or not deserve a right to attend a private school no matter their religion if they feel they want to. So Pete you are saying that your kid should not be at the school with a non-catholic kid? Also Pete who is up for the Butler job, any clues?
