Report: Health overhaul will increase nation's tab

Did anyone actually read the report? Medical spending, not the deficit, will increase by less than 1% over the first ten years but then begin reduction in the subsequent ten years. That is precisely what the bill was expected to do.

And did you read the part where it talked about the 1% number possibly increasing? Or the part that said that said Medicare cuts in the law are "unrealistic" and "unsustainable"?

Two things on the bolded. Politicians have no true idea what is going to happen in 10 years let alone 20 years from now in spending costs.

And the parties that are put into power over the next 10-20 years is going to tweak this thing like crazy and make any projections irrelevant.

When anyone begins talking about 10 to 20 years ago based on what a politician or report says, they need to give a serious consideration on how the political/economic climate is going to change and that it is not realistic numbers.
