April 14, 201016 yr Anyone else enjoying the ESPN segment with Gruden working with and watching tape with the top qb prospects? Its really a good watch. My favorite all-time mic'd coach was Chucky and he's enjoyable in this as well.
April 14, 201016 yr I have seen a few, and was debating starting a thread about it. I really enjoy these segments. The one with Sam Bradford was much better than Tebow's. He broke down quite a bit of film with Bradford.
April 14, 201016 yr I saw the one with Bradford and loved it. If you all like him you should check out his book Do You Love Football I think it's called. I loved it. It was crazy all the names he came in touch with over the years. He is a workaholic! Sleeps like 5 hours a night. Don't think for a second he isn't using his time as a broadcaster to study players/schemes/coaches etc for when he returns to coach. I wouldn't be the least bit suprised to see him as the Browns coach not this coming year but next.
April 14, 201016 yr Its pretty good! I really like Gruden. He gets really hot and stirred up a lot of times on the football field as a coach, but he is really a different guy off the field. Very, very stand-up guy. I think he brings the most to the table of all the NFL analysts that ESPN currently employs. He knows his stuff.
April 18, 201016 yr BTW Tebow's throwing motion has been completely revamped. I'm still not sold on it completely. I have to see it in a game first. It's easy to change a throwing motion without pads and without a pass rush. I don't think a QB can fix his woes in 3 months. I have seen a few, and was debating starting a thread about it. I really enjoy these segments. The one with Sam Bradford was much better than Tebow's. He broke down quite a bit of film with Bradford. Bradford became my favorite of the bunch after watching this. I knew he had skills, but I think he has the mentality to go with it. I think he could be very good if his health is okay. I saw the one with Bradford and loved it. He was huge around the time of his Super Bowl run, but people kind of forgot about him until he got in to broadcasting. I really like Gruden and will pull for whatever team he coaches. He's just one of those guys that's easy to like.:thumb:

April 18, 201016 yr It does not take that long to correct, especially the problem that Tebow had. Its really easy to fix without pads on and without a rush coming at you. I am anxious to see how he does the a defensive line coming at him. I love the guy and thin he will be ok as a quarterback in the NFL I just hope he can keep that motion when its crunch time.
April 18, 201016 yr I thought it was pretty funny and pretty smart of ESPN to come up with something like that. I don't think that Gruden is going to be out of coaching to much longer.
April 18, 201016 yr I thought it was pretty funny and pretty smart of ESPN to come up with something like that. I don't think that Gruden is going to be out of coaching to much longer. I think plenty of teams will be calling at the end of the upcoming season.
April 18, 201016 yr It does not take that long to correct, especially the problem that Tebow had. I don't see how. Throwing a football is alot of muscle memory. He's been throwing one way for 22 years and in 3 months he can change it? It's not something that would take as long to fix as other mechanical problems but I don't see how people can be sold on it. Obviously NFL teams aren't or they would be drooling at the mouth for him. I think when things get tough in an NFL game Tebow is going to do what everyone would do, go back to the things he's comfortable with. So you're telling me that he's fix his throwing motion and it's going to be good from now on? Let us also consider that he has worked 99.99% of the gun at the college level, so he's going to have to work on his 3,5 and 7 step drops to go with it. He's going to be thinking alot about his motion this year, which means that it is not fixed IMO. His mechanics have to be 2nd nature to him because he has more important things to worry about in game situations such as reading coverage, adjusting protection, throwing hot against the blitz. I think Tebow can be a good NFL QB, but it's going to be a long process. This is JMO obviously, but I dont' see how a throwing motion can be said to be fixed when he hasn't even been to an NFL practice or game yet.
April 19, 201016 yr One of the best ESPN segments in a long time. I've really enjoyed it so far... I agree 100%. thumb:
April 19, 201016 yr This is excellent, he mostly points out the negatives to help the players improve and mentions things nobody would think of. For instance he got on McCoy to speak clearly and lose his Texas accent so everyone could understand him in a huddle. Very good idea.
April 19, 201016 yr I loved it...DVR'd it and have watched it several times. The passion when he was breaking down tape I loved...I don't care what people are talking about -- if they are passionate AND knowledgeable about it I'M IN!!!
