April 1, 201016 yr kysportsradio I will have more on this on site tonight, but I am hearing that UK will pursue Elisha Justice as walk-on and may offer him 1 year scholly I know for sure that they had not contacted Justice in any way as of Saturday, but that may have changed since then.
April 1, 201016 yr So they are going after him because the entire roster is leaving, and it will be for only 1 year? I'd tell them thanks, but no thanks...............
April 1, 201016 yr If this is true we could go from a back court of Wall and Bledsoe to one of Hood and Justice. ouch.
April 1, 201016 yr Author I have a message in to check on this a little, but I am keeping an open mind. It is April Fool's Day, after all.
April 1, 201016 yr Although this would make Matt Jones very happy, I don't think it's a good move for Kentucky basketball.

April 1, 201016 yr I'm thinking every scholarship is a one year scholarship, that is either renewed, or not renewed yearly. You are correct...........
April 1, 201016 yr Author Well folks...Matt is onto something. I just learned from a very good source that this rumor is absolutely true. (and, yes I'm being serious)
April 1, 201016 yr We have to have someone replace Krebs. I like Elisha and think he gets the absolute most out of his ability and stature but the SEC is a bit high in my opinion. If he goes I hope he is ok with being a cheerleader and scout team guy.
April 1, 201016 yr Even as a UofL fan I wouldn't be surprised if he switched. Most kids growing up in this state dream of playing for UK. Anyone know if he is a Cat fan?

I am pretty sure I read in the High School forum that he was a Cat fan. I am not positive on that. Sometimes I make up stuff in my head.

I could have said the same thing about Treg Setty when he goes to Southern Illinois next year, but I forgot you like him so that makes it wrong, I get how this works now.
April 2, 201016 yr I would love it if this were to happen. You will not get the chance to see too many more Kentucky kids play at UK as long as Cal is here. Not that he is racist toward them, but only because he recruits the best of the best. If your a KY kid and not top 50 then you shouldn't be looking at getting looked at by Cal. Guys like Miller and Hood, then potentially Beckham and Hicks may be the exception and not the rule. With a roster overhaul apparent, it looks as if Cal will have to bring in seven or eight guys just to have twelve on the team. Having Elisha on the team will give you that guy who will go the hardest every single day in practice, and show the other guys how much it means to wear Kentucky across your chest. I am sure he would rather sit and waive a towel on Rupp Arena's benches for four years instead of being a starter at Morehead. It's just something that is instilled in most Kentucky kids. People sleep on Justice a lot, but you cannot teach winning, the guy knows how to win. Being a Pike County native, and living here my whole life minus the three-four years I lived in Richmond/Lexington, I know how special it is for a school like Shelby Valley to win the State Title, and a kid like Elisha to win Mr. Basketball. I have got to see him play around a dozen times, and even though he's not the ideal size, he is a nice player. He looked very good against Glen Rice Jr in a game last year, with Rice seeing a lot of playing time this year at Georgia Tech. Not saying Justice will make an impact at Kentucky in games himself personally (more than likely), but as far as practice goes, and all the other things that come along with being at Kentucky, he will effect everyone else. To me this is turning out to be the perfect storm to get Elisha in a Kentucky uniform and I think it is the right thing to do, especially if it is just a walk on spot. If he can earn a scholly for a year, then it would be wonderful. I just really hope this works out, Elisha has worked so hard to get to where he is at, he deserves at least the opportunity to prove he can play with the big guys because obviously theres still out there who doubt him.
