Lavin will show his coaching abilities (or lack thereof), with this group next season. He inherits a really talented roster.

 

 

In other coaching news, that I haven't seen mentioned yet, Al Skinner is out at BC...

Seems like an out of left field kind of hire to me...

 

Didn't realize he was so young as head man at UCLA... Mid-30s for a job like that is pretty crazy.

I had to go back and revisit what Lavin did at UCLA and was surprised to find out, he basically had one bad season and then was fired. I believe it was GT that said St Johns has the kids in place to have a run next year, then the 2nd year might be tricky for a new coach.

Yeah, but didn't he get busted for some violations? I thought that's what led to his ouster.

That's what led to Jim Harrick's dismissal and gave way for Lavin to get the job... And then he later got busted for violations again @ Georgia before Felton took over.

 

As far as I know, Lavin was clean.
