Ants In My Cabinets

Featured Replies

I have a bunch of really small ants in the cabinets in my kitchen. The little guys are crafty too. They managed to get into an unopened box of girl scout cookies:madman:

I threw away all of my food. What can I do now ?

Bug bomb(s)

Considered that and I still have a few bombs left from my lady bug issues. Where do I put the bomb though ? In the kitchen and leave the cabinet doors open ? Directly in the cabinets ?

I'd put it in the kitchen close to the cabinet with the doors open. I might even consider spraying an ant spray inside also. Ants suck. No doubt. Don't forget to turn your furnace off.

I had the same problem years ago in my pantry. I emptied everything out (threw almost everything away), sprayed with raid ant spray, waited a day and then washed the cabinet out. It worked well.

I hate using bombs because you dont know where the poison goes, and since it is where you cook your food...just my personal thing.

We had them 2 years ago in a front window sill and on our back deck. We used stuff called Terro. It is clear and in a small bottle. You put a couple of drops on a inch square of cardboard and they love it and walk right through it. They then take it back on them to where the nest is, so to speak. This kills off the ones you cannot see. It worked wonderful. We got it at Southern States. Good luck.

Great stuff and exactly what I was going to recommend.

Terro is great. :thumb: It is like ant crack--they can't resist it. It will kill out the whole colony. The bad thing with bombs and sprays is that they only kill the ones in the house. You've got to knock out the colony to get rid of them. Just don't use too much Terro or you will get thousands in your house before they die!

Can Terro be used outside? I have a huge ant hill in my back yard.

Yep, that is the only place we used it. Gotta love the "ant crack"

Ant cracks, ant hills,,,,basic antnatomy.

We had the same problem. My wife spread some nutmeg around in the cabinet and we haven't had the problem since. This was about 2 years ago and it is still keeping them out.

Better in the cabinets than ants in your pants.
