Ants In My Cabinets

Or making a song called "Ants on the Ground"

Make sure you clean their trail. They leave a track of urine to/from their nest and food source. Even if you spray around your cabinets, they can still come back.

Go for it. It works great.

We had them 2 years ago in a front window sill and on our back deck. We used stuff called Terro. It is clear and in a small bottle. You put a couple of drops on a inch square of cardboard and they love it and walk right through it. They then take it back on them to where the nest is, so to speak. This kills off the ones you cannot see. It worked wonderful. We got it at Southern States. Good luck.

I can also vouch that Ant Terro works. I had a problem with ants before and this worked everytime. It takes a couple of days, and I think you would be happy with the results.

Does Home Depot or Lowes have it? If not, who does?

We couldn't get anything to work including the Terro you pour on the cardboard. At Lowe's they have clear plastic traps with Terro in it. They get in and can't get out. It brings them out of the woodwork too! I'm telling you it has been awesome. Used it several times.

Lowes should, they used to. It does work well.

Question:

Is this product safe for pets?

I sometimes have issues with ants on my front porch, and ants in my back yard. But I don't want to use anything that could harm my LuckyDog.

Per website:

TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait is a sweet food based product similar to pancake

syrup combined with Borax. Borax is a mineral that is mined in the desert

in California and is a common active ingredient that is used in soap

products such as 20 Mule Team Borax.

The product kills ants but will not harm people or pets. If you spill some

on your skin there will be no reaction at all. Simply wash with warm water.

Pets occasionally find the Terro and eat it. Our advice when this happens

is to do nothing at all. The product is not toxic enough to cause a problem

and the pet will be just fine.

The baits can be used outdoors and many times this will draw ants out of the

structure and keep others from entering. Water will not get into the bait

stations unless there the bait station is submerged in standing water.
