March 24, 201016 yr I am sure most everyone will agree with the facts, whether you disagree with the policy or philosophy. I think the article is well written too. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/24/business/24leonhardt.html?hp
March 24, 201016 yr The philosophy to put more monetary demands on the state medicaid systems without giving them anymore money is just brilliant. :isurrender: Of course, with 14 state AG's already suing the feds over this, the discussion may not be over yet. March 24, 201016 yr Finally, the bill will also reduce a different kind of inequality. In the broadest sense, insurance is meant to spread the costs of an individual’s misfortune — illness, death, fire, flood — across society. Since the late 1970s, though, the share of Americans with health insurance has shrunk. As a result, the gap between the economic well-being of the sick and the healthy has been growing, at virtually every level of the income distribution. The health reform bill will reverse that trend. By 2019, 95 percent of people are projected to be covered, up from 85 percent today (and about 90 percent in the late 1970s). Even affluent families ineligible for subsidies will benefit if they lose their insurance, by being able to buy a plan that can no longer charge more for pre-existing conditions. In effect, healthy families will be picking up most of the bill — and their insurance will be somewhat more expensive than it otherwise would have been. Again, the majority of the population getting screwed by the minority.
March 24, 201016 yr I agree with the facts in this article that it's all about income redistribution. We have the biggest den of thieves in office in Washington right now being led by the biggest crook I've seen in the Oval Office in my lifetime.

March 24, 201016 yr And you base that on what? What are they stealing? How is the president a crook? It's really simple to figure out. Hint: It's in the first sentence of post #4.

March 25, 201016 yr And you base that on what? What are they stealing? How is the president a crook? He is taking money from one percentage of the population and giving it to another against their will. They are stealing money.:puke: BTW, I am not in the economic group that will be stolen from, but it is still stealing by the simple definition of the word.
March 25, 201016 yr Not sure if he reaches the level of G. W. Bush.Passed him in a little over a year. How pathetic is that?

Walter Williams describes wealth redistribution in our country as "Legalized Larceny".
March 25, 201016 yr I think it's wrong to call them crooks and a den a thieves just because you might disagree with what they're doing. Believe me, I don't agree with much of what they've done but that doesn't mean they're crooks. I do think they've been dishonest about how they've gone about some things but that is true of much of Washington these days on both sides. That's the sad part.

March 25, 201016 yr Walter Williams describes wealth redistribution in our country as "Legalized Larceny". I honestly believe the following statement: The new American Dream is to not have to have a job and let someone else support you. And honestly, I feel like a sap for buying into what has turned out to be a crock about working hard, doing things right and living the American Dream to choose what I wish to do with what I have worked hard for. I could have spent every single minute of my children's life enjoying them by staying home and let you guys pay for my housing through HUD, my prescriptions through Medicare and this new government health care, my food through food stamps, my cellphone through whatever program that was, etc., etc.
