Did the referees call the game different for Scott County?

Featured Replies

Here let me give you a good thought: When Euton fouled out in the quarterfinals, I am certain that 4 possibly 5 of the fouls called on Euton were called by the 16th region official. Same one also called 3 of the fouls on Jackson in the semi's when he fouled out. They did come from the 16th region to Scott County and I know that they did not get many calls when they played there at Rose Hill either. This same official was dreaded by all fans when he walked into the gym to call a Rose Hill game. Now I am not saying that cost them the game or anything, just saying it is interesting to look at.

I knew someone would say it.

Scott County just fouls a lot. They always have and always will its part of there agressive play.

Scott Co. got some pretty bad calls. It was called pretty bad the whole tourney, imo.

And maybe the fact that Euton was guarding much quicker guys when the Cardinals played Christian County had something to do with his foul trouble.

I thought the refereeing in general was poor. I felt like the refs that got the 3 games Saturday was not even close to being the best the state has to offer.

Hey it was just a thought, I know Euton is slow and I am not a fan of Scott County. I was rooting for SV. I just noticed that and heard others say that and knowing both players and the referee involved, I can say it was a odd tidbit.

Doesn't change my mind. I saw a whole lot of bad fouls on Scott County's part and they got away with quite a bit while out on the court. They gambled, reached and hacked at everything and the refs took notice. I had more than one person claim that the refs were for Scott County......but I did notice the referee who made all the calls on Euton and Jackson. Granted Jackson and Euton were guilty 99% of the time, but I noticed he made a lion's share of the calls against them.

Christian Co. and Ballard weren't exactly timid on defense either. I thought Euton got fouled a few times and it wasn't called. But hes a big man and a lot of times that happens with bigger guys getting beat on without getting calls.

Bobby Hall is a quality official. Why would he care if Scott County won or not? i do know that Hicks spent the entire game wearing him out and did a whole lot of crying and very little coaching.

An a side note, Scott County will be sponsoerd by Toyota AND Kleenex next year. Major underachievers.

Don't about the whole post, but Bobby Hall is a quality official.

Yep. Final four is an underachievement. I suppose that every team that reaches the final four and doesn't win the title is an underachiever. Wonder if that shoe fits?

An underachiever when you consider the players that have transferred there.

He does it every game and almost every year he is at Rupp.

Must be doing something right...

Not saying the 16th Region ref did screw Scott over but it is odd that he did ref the game.

Wow. Then the majority of all schools in the Commonwealth will underachieve.
