All time Reds Busts of Players

^ Just to clarify. I wasn't around when the Mathewson for Rusie deal was consummated. I had to research the archives, not my memory.

Yeah, yeah....

Too many Reds busts to name.

I always thought Householder was a good utility man when I was young. Guess I was wrong.

My first thought: Jeff Treadway

Willie Greene has to be considered.

Too many Reds busts to name.

:thumb: Thats what I was thinking!

A few others recently:

Ty Howington

Dan Wilson

Edwin Encanarcion

Dane Sarducci (sp)

Homer Bailey????? Hope this is not the case and he has it straightened out.

Older guys:

Gary Redus

Bip Roberts (one year wonder)

Glenn Brags

Duane Walker

Wayne Krenchicki

Wily Mo Pena or Edwin Encarnacion

Ancient history, but BY FAR, the biggest bust was Amos Rusie.

Reds traded Christy Mathewson, who went on to win 352 games before returning to the Reds sixteen years later to win one game for Cincinnati, for Rusie, who went 0-1 for Cincinnati.

Many like to talk about the Robinson-Pappas trade, and rightly so, but this deal, made in 1900, may have been the worst of all time for ANY team. Only Babe Ruth for cash rivals it.

PS - read deep into the story and find that the Reds had a shot at The Babe, but missed out.

You're not that old!!

Willy Mo for sure, the Tony Mandarich of the Reds

I always loved the name Wayne Krenchickie (I have no idea how to spell it lol).
