March 15, 201016 yr Just a little bit about E Tn State UK first round opponent! Murray State beat them @ E Tn State on 12/12/09 61-57 as did Morehead State 12/18/09 60/58 @ Morehead.
March 15, 201016 yr I think Kansas got a raw deal...Michigan State as a possible Sweet 16 matchup? Maybe a blind resume would look OK, but knowing how successful Izzo is in March and that they missed Lucas for a stretch, I wouldn't be overly excited about that. I honestly don't see where UK has much to complain about. Its true. Texas was rated #1 this season. And, there's a reason they're heading into the tournament as a #8. I would have preferred either Ohio State or Villanova instead of West Virginia, but you don't get easy games when you're playing for a Final Four berth. I like the Cats draw. If they take care of business and play with focus and energy, they'll be in Indy. I like the draw. I also think the Cats caught a huge break when the selection committee gave the shaft to Syracuse. Assuming the seeds hold, I'd ten-to-one rather play Duke instead of the Orange. Again, I think Kansas got a terrible draw for the supposed #1 overall. But, ultimately, this is the big dance...there are no gimmes. If you're a championship team, you can beat whoever you have to.
March 15, 201016 yr Because the committee did an awful job making this bracket... You know I am glad you agree this bracket is awful! From a UK standpoint I think its bad. From a Kansas standpoint I think its bad. I think WVU deserves a 1 seed over Duke and low and behold they are in UK's bracket. West Virgina IMO has a much better resume than Duke. I also think Tennessee got shafted. I believe UT should have been a 4 seed or at the lowest a 5 seed. I also believe Miss. St should have gotten in and I feel bad for them.

Some team is going to light them up from the outside and disect their zone. If Vanderbilt makes it, I like Stallings over Boehiem. Athletically-wise, Syracuse has the advantage, coaching wise, I give it to Vanderbilt.

March 15, 201016 yr :thumb: In talent and coaching, IMO... Talent, yes. Coaching, I don't think so. What has Boeheim proven? That he can really teach a good middle school defense? I don't think Vanderbilt will go to the Final Four. I never said that. However, I do think a team like Vanderbilt and Stallings is someone who can really do well against Syracuse's zone. And considering Pittsburgh beat Syracuse, it's not like Syracuse is that much more superior to a team with a good defensive philosophy and ability to beat the zone.

Great coaching that was... Anyway, I'm not going to get into a Boeheim/Stallings argument. Vandy may very well knock them off. Anything can happen...
