October 18, 200521 yr And yet, you oppose separate classes for boys and girls! I might have dropped out if there weren't any girls in my classes, so yes, I am opposed...
October 18, 200521 yr RM that has happened here at least. In another thread when ever anyone points out that Manual attracts (not the "R" word) the best and the brightest to the detrement of other schools in the county the Manual supporters are out in droves explaining to we the uneducated masses how a place like Manual HAS to exist in order for those students to achieve at their highest level. They want what they consider a level playing field only where they see themselves at a disadvantage. In fact I would bet there will be post from Manual people here in the next hour explainig to me how stupid I am for even suggestiong that Manual may be hurting other schools in the JCPS. I say we kick them out :ylsuper: :ylsuper: Kidding to my BGP Manual pals
October 18, 200521 yr We don't even want the level playing field, even where we are at the disadvantge. Point out a single post where we support the measures against the Catholic schools (aside from compromises so that this issue will go away.) You can't. We've defended some other people's opinions, but we'd ALL rather whip you on the field, advantages and all. So get your facts straight or back off. What you want and what Keepers wnats is totally different. She is one of the biggest finger pointers and Joe Nichols has quotes about it in the paper also the day after I saw him at a CSAA game. They are hipocrites. Now the public argument is there are so many boys. You can only play 11 at a time, limit the dressing capacities of teams. If both teams have 55 then how are they at advantage. How many of the kids that dress actually play?

You can have Keepers, she wasn't too fond of me when I was a student (always leading protests and what not...)

October 18, 200521 yr This is funny out of the above mentioned article. "All Male students come from Johnson, Barret and Jefferson County Traditional middle schools."
October 18, 200521 yr Did he not say they had an advantage? She not only is one of the leaders, she is totally misinformed about how financial aid works. If this is what they choose to lead the JCPS best and brightest, how sad.
October 18, 200521 yr Personally, I'll think the entire "R" word will have more merit when schools are complaining about losing Merit Sholars and Governor's Scholars. I mean, that is what educational institutions are about, right? You've got it right, but $3,000,000 for a football field when Catholic schools are closing? I know it's private donations.

Frankly I don't care if the posters on here support Prop 20 or not, Manual's principal is a co-sponsor, she has been very vocal in her opinions about it, Manual is going to vote for it therefore Manual supports it and they are contemptible and hypocritical for doing so because their school has thrived because the playing field was drastically skewed in their favor. Yet whenever anyone says that Manual ATTRACTING (not the "R" word) the best and the brightest from across the county has had an adverse effect on schools like Shawnee and Iroquois, the Rams are out in droves defending their school. Keepers is a hypocrite. If this lunacy passes I want to hear her whine when the schools out in the state go after open enrollment schools next.
October 18, 200521 yr Did he not say they had an advantage? Oh, so the Catholic schools DON'T have any advantages? I think everyone can agree that they do... Some are of the opinion that those advantages have been earned and are the rightful spoils of war, and others want to see those advantages removed. I agree with Joe in both that X and T DO have advantages, and I STILL want to beat them, regardless of those advantages.

Like I said, say whatever you want about Keepers... it can't be worse than what I said about her from Fall of 98 to Spring of 02...
October 18, 200521 yr You've got it right, but $3,000,000 for a football field when Catholic schools are closing? I know it's private donations. The money was raised by Trinity, not given to us by the Archdiocese. The money is not from the parishes. It was given by the parents, students, alumni and supporters of the school. Before the $3M could be spent on a stadium, upgrades were completed on academic facilities, including new buildings, renovations, computer upgrades, accessible facilities, etc. In addition, the total amount of money had to reach a SIGNIFICANT amount more than the $3M before the construction could start. The additional money was required to ensure the endowments of the school were funded, etc.

You private school folks are screwed if this is the majorities thoughts. Unbelievable.
October 18, 200521 yr For the record...I would like someone to explain to me exactly when it became a "bad" thing to have an advantage?
October 18, 200521 yr For the record...I would like someone to explain to me exactly when it became a "bad" thing to have an advantage?Never, unless the advantage is within the same school system, while certain things get unfunded, while others flourish and thus creating a disadvantage.
