The R word: Who is accusing who? Surprise!!

Featured Replies

I hope you aren't accusing ram95, one of THE most intellectually honest people that I have ever met in my life, of being dishonest on his opinion. Not just because I don't think you should, I'd just hope you'd have a better argument.

What he's doing is the same thing I'm doing. Saying that it's really easy to say the things that Manual posters are saying when they aren't the ones faced with the situation. It's really easy to be so blase when you have nothing at all to lose, and everything to gain. The tone of your reply to AllTell is more accusatory than his to Ram95.

Okay, there's WAY too much writing in this thread, and I already have to read enough for school, but this is interesting to me. Could someone possibly summerize everything up until now in bullet form?

And I agree with Rockmom, in the sense that while we are looking at the same spot, we have a different angle. But it's still the same picture... Would Manual athletics benefit from a split? Well, really, it'd probably remain the same, except with an easier road to the championship... not my cup of tea. If Manual gets to the championship, I want it to be because they were good enough to beat St. X, and they were good enough to beat Trinity. All the other politics and whatnot just give me a headache... Manuals academic thievery, money, recruitment... let's seperate each issue, and work on each one, because despite popular belief, not ALL Manual students are capable of massive amounts of information. Some are just sly.

Here is the break down for you. Some people don't like prop 20. So they are mad at Manual's Principal and said she is a knownothing, inhumane, and hypocrite. I played devil's advocate pointing out that maybe she might not be so evil if you look at it from her point of view, she is being consistant, and basically not an evil or stupid person, and then that led to more Manual and Bev bashing, which lead to more pleas from me to look at things objectively and not emotionally, which lead to a rally around the family to gang up on ram95 party. Because appearently this is too personal an issue to look at objectively. That led to me getting smart trying to be funny as to lighten the mood with people that weren't in the mood and then this really went south and then Bev apparently became a man in there somewhere... I dunno. I am out.

Here ya go, ram2003...

*Schools vote tomorrow (Thursday)...takes a 2/3 majority of however many of the 282 schools show up for the meeting to pass each proposal

*The proposals that pass go to the Board of Control for a Friday meeting. The BOC looks at each proposal and either assigns it a "recommend" or "no recommend" and passes them on to the state Board of Education

*The Board of Education will meet (maybe not until late next spring) and look at the "recommends" and make a final decision on them. Or it is also possible that the BOE could table a "recommends" for further discussion down the road

*If Prop 20 should somehow pass all 3 of these groups (which I'd be surprised if it does) then it will be tied up in the courts for the next 10 years

There you have it, ram2003...good night and sleep tight. :D

I actually slept very poorly, but that's not important. Thanks anyway. So yeah, I get the prop20 bit, I'm just wondering how this debate got all tangled up in people accusing of accusitory accusations. And stuff.

WELL................ I certainly feel the Public schools at are at an advantage since they take MY money every year when no one in my family ever went to a public school.
