March 9, 201016 yr When Mike Brown calls Brandon Marshall to meet in Cincy then I'll retract my statements. It's the fact that were looking at the cheaper receivers instead of Marshall it has nothing to do with overreacting because we think he's already signing a contract. How would we know the Bengals aren't looking at Marshall? If they can get Bryant or TO and not give up a first round pick what's wrong w/ that? Marshall is going to get a monster contract and he's probably about one mis step away from serving a year long suspension from the league. Sure I'd love to have him, but Bryant and a first round starter would be almost as good.

Or it could be that no matter what they try to do, Marshall probably isn't a realistic option....:idunno:
March 9, 201016 yr Oh I forgot, let's overreact because this has already happened :idunno: I'm not overreacting at all just being realistic. Marshall is easily worth a middle level 1st round pick IMO. The Bengals need a WR who would help them more than any 1st rounder they will take this year IMO unless Suh or Eric Berry just fall all the way down the draft board which is unlikely. It is what it is man.

Wouldn't that time be better spent going after guys that they have a realistic shot at obtaining (ie Bryant or TO)?

Wouldn't that time be better spent going after guys that they have a realistic shot at obtaining (ie Bryant or TO)? If the Bengals sign Marshall to an offer sheet, then the Broncos would have to match it if they want to keep him. That means they would have him for a long term deal. They only way I see them matching, is if they know for sure that Seattle would trade for him, after the Broncos got stuck with the long term deal for him. Also you would think if Seattle was going to do it, then would do it soon. So by some miracle the Bengals do actually make an offer to Marshall, and he accepts. Then chances are Seattle probably wasn't go to anyways. So chances of it happening are pretty good IMO, as long as the Bengals really try to sign him. Now will the Bengals really try to sign him, that is the question. If they do try to sign him, I think they would get him though.
March 10, 201016 yr Bryant just left cincy a few hours ago, no news yet. TO in route to cincy now. I'm actually somewhat excited that the Bengals are bringing these two in. TO is my favorite football player outside of Tom Brady, so I'd love for them to bring him aboard, but even Bryant would be a positive step for the Bengals. I would do cartwheels if they could find a way to bring both in.
March 10, 201016 yr I'm more fired up that Boldin went for only a 3rd and 4th. Even worse in Division! That one has haunting written all over it!
March 10, 201016 yr Hopefully the Bengals' medical staff is careful with any medical evaluation of Bryant. If they report a bruise, you almost have to believe there is a broken bone somewhere (Braham). I do like the fact that both Bryant and TO average around 15 yds/ catch, just the threat of stretching the defense could help.
March 10, 201016 yr I think Bryant was looking for a deal in the range of 8 mil for 4 years. I think we should pass.
March 10, 201016 yr I think Bryant was looking for a deal in the range of 8 mil for 4 years. I think we should pass. 8 Mill per year? With a bad knee.... I don't know about that one, let's see what TO wants.

March 10, 201016 yr I am pretty sure that is what they said, I might have heard it wrong. It's probably right that is about the going rate for a #1 receiver but he seems to have a knee problem that might be chronic. He will probably get close that money somewhere he's worth it if healthy. TO may be safer though at one year around 4 million.
