Male 55 Trinity 54

Featured Replies

Male has now won three in a row with 4th quarter comebacks. They might not beat J-town, but don't count them out. Pillischafske's defense was part of what limited Sewell last night. Male is a very physical team!!!

Wow.:eek: Hate to see it end for T like that but congrats on your season and many great accomplishments! :thumb:

WOW Nice win Male.

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that we can't get through a decent basketball thread without a GRC mention? Maybe it's me.

Congrats to Male, and Trinity on a fine season. Brutal region. I sometimes wonder if they're not simply beat up once the champ gets to Rupp.

How did the mention of GRC take away from anything in this thread? It was just one poster commenting based on their experience of seeing Male this year -- which happened to be because Male was playing GRC. Not sure what's objectionable about this.

Congrats to Male. They outplayed us and deserved the W. We did not bring our "A" - or "usual game" last night and as others have correctly pointed out --you cannot do that here and survive. Alot of things we normally count on - did not happen. Sorry to see the end of a record setting season. Well done Rocks.:thumb:

Big win for Male. I definetly wasn't expecting this.

I disagree though with those who say Sewell's stock dropped because of this loss. Jon Hood never made it to Rupp either and he still won Mr. Basketball last year. Sewell has more than proved himself.

Only way I see him not winning the award is if Ricardo Johnson, Elijah Pittman, Elisha Justice, or someone from the Scott Co trio have a big post season and lead their team to a state title.

Again, congrats to Male on a big W.

Hood was a UK commit and the only player who had gained on him taking media or coaches vote was Jenkins in the preseason, but Jenkins was injured at the start of the season.

Regardless, Hood won the award the moment he signed for UK, same as Darius, but Darius led his team to a title and some still say Hopson or Mack should have won it.

This year, no UK signees, only Sewell (Miami of OH), Johnson (Ohio), and Justice (WALKON to UL) have a "real" shot at it. Trinity lost to a "real" foe and it could cause a "real" travesty should he not win the award after such a strong season. Never before has Trinity earned so many accolades in its program's history until Mr. Sewell's came along.

So, let's see how the vote goes. The question is, did Sewell do enough to sway the "mountain votes" his way? We will know in about 3 to 4 weeks.

Make no mistake, there will be no Justice for Sewell when it comes to the mountain vote.:D

You are not the only one my friend. It gets old real quick, this site has turned into cardinalpreps. But on to the game, I am very surprised but we all knew how deep the 7th was. I want to say that now opens the door wide open for Ballard but nothing is never a for sure thing in the 7th.

Have you seen Aaron Watts play? Hes been outstanding all year and has done it against teams like Scott Co, LexCath (twice), Seneca, Male, and Corbin who has a quality team. He put up huge numbers in all those games. I think its awful that he isn't considered for Mr. Basketball. Hes had an outstanding year and deserves credit.

It would not be a travesty for him to lose if someone performs great in the post season making a deep run in the Sweet 16 and also had a very good regular season. Now that is yet to be seen.
