February 16, 201016 yr Don't you realize that UK games are the only ones that matter. If ESPN is looking for good ratings they should realize that. I don't see why they can't schedule the second game for 9:15. That gives 2 hours and 15 minutes for the opening game, and would allow SportsCenter to start at 11:30, which we be roughly where it starts after UK/MSU tonight.

February 16, 201016 yr Usually the 2nd game tips at 7 or 8 minutes after 9... So why not just schedule it at 9:15 and eliminate any worry? If the early game ends at 9, then they have some time to show highlights, discuss bracketology, etc. And then they can start without any tipoff pushback.

February 16, 201016 yr The LSU game was a SEC Network game on a Saturday, and it started on time. I thought it was that game, ill have to go back and check which one it was, but I do know the game I was watching came on a few minutes into the game.

February 16, 201016 yr How about this, take the TV timeouts to 6 vs. 8 per game. Have a TV timeout at the following marks: 15:00, 10:00, and 5:00. Fit your commercials from the lost TV timeouts in at a full TO that is called by a coach. IMHO, there are to many TO stoppages per game. I think this would solve the 2 hour window issue.

The timeouts during a college bb game are ridiculous.
February 17, 201016 yr A lot of it also has to do with what I perceive to be an effort by officials to clean up the rough play, and teams haven't adjusted accordingly. There seem to be a lot more fouls called this year than most years.
