I really liked the Bo and Luke from Against the Grain Brewery that I had at the Party Town in Florence last Friday that was on Tap!

 

Just wondering but have any of you eaten at the Against the Grain Brewery Restaurant in Louisville?

 

Honestly if the food is good, a short Hour and a half drive wouldn't be too much trouble to drink some Bo and Luke and bring home a couple of Growlers. They do fill up Growlers don't they?

 

I stopped by last Summer and we enjoyed the food. The cool thing about ATG is it is attached to Slugger Field. Go to a Bats game and sit on the patio prior or after the game and enjoy some food and a flight.

I'm there about once a week to try out whatever new beers they have up. I eat there maybe once every month or so.

 

Some find the food a bit on the high side as far as price, but some of it is very, very good. I can't recommend the Smokehouse Hash enough and the cured pork belly served with molasses is UNBELIEVABLE.

 

They'll be more than happy to fill up that growler as well. The Bo and Luke is tough to find. I don't know if they even have any in-house right now due to the demand it's under. If you're coming for that, I'd call first.

After I picked up "The Boss" at her work place we drove over to The Party Town in Florence last night and picked up two Growlers.

 

1st Growler purchased was a bit expensive but it's what we will have at my Brother-in-laws on Christmas Day: Ommegang - Adoration Belgian Strong Ale $22.99

 

COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Ale brewed with Spices: Coriander, Cardamon, Mace, Grains of Paradise, Sweet Orange Peel. Adoration is a traditional winter ale, brewed in the Belgian manner, but with the twist of unusual spicing. Sip it on a winter eve sitting before a fire. You’ll understand why we couldn’t name it anything else.

 

2nd Growler Breckenridge - Christmas ale $7.99. This was "The Boss" pick,. after tasting about five or six other beers. :sssh:

 

After "The Boss" paid for the Growlers I thought I saw that the price was a bit low so when we got into the car I asked to look at the receipt to check and sure enough the cashier rang both Growlers up as $7.99 so back we went inside to pay what we should have.

 

The people at Party Town are far too nice and treat their customers so well, that we couldn't (wouldn't do it even it they weren't so nice) cheat them out of what we should have paid due to an honest mistake!

I love Shiner Bock but I hate paying the shipping premium for it. The stuff should be Killian's prices, not premium craft beer prices.

Got it at the O'Shea's Irish Pub in the Highlands in L'ville. I rather enjoyed it. Very hoppy but not so much so that it overpowered the flavor.

Great Lakes "Christmas Ale" last night. It was fantastic. Great flavor too with the cinnamon, ginger and honey. 7.5 ABV

Samuel Adams White Christmas, it's not their best but it will do.

Drinking some Breckenridge - Christmas ale. Rather tasty! IMHO, better than the Great Lake Christmas Ale but a huge step down from the Bell's Christmas Ale!

 

Going to be drinking my Growler of Ommegang - Adoration Belgian Strong Ale over the next couple of days as I won't be drinking anything stronger than a coke with the team in Fla!
