Weather permitting Boone Co. travels to Holmes on Wednesday night to play the Bulldogs in a much anticipated matchup of what many think are the 2 top teams in Northern Ky.

This game could go either way...it really depends on which Holmes team shows up.

Holmes has to attack the basket and put pressure on the Boone Co guards. Take Gabbard out of the equation and Boone becomes an average team because nobody else is capable of getting the offense going. Holmes will need to use their size and athleticism down low around the rim. Pittman has to play well at both ends of the floor and prevent Montgomery and Brown from having big games.

I think Holmes comes out with a chip on their shoulder from the other night and jump out to a big lead. Boone Co will fight back throughout the game but in the end, just won't have enough to knock off the Dogs in Covington.

Pittman gets back on track with a big game and Holmes wins by the following score:

Holmes: 61

Boone: 52

I think this could be a close game. Could be a two-point margin either way. Holmes home court gives them an extra advantage. Boone did not play well on Holmes court the last time. Montgomery and Cotton for Boone are very athletic too, and both are great shot blockers. I think it could be a lower scoring game, played in the 40s and 50s.

Holmes 64

Boone 51

Only way I see this happening is if Boone plays a deliberate style of offense like Campbell Co did a few nights ago. Holmes has tried to get out and run in their most recent games.

I'd assume Boone doesn't want to get out and run with Holmes though. Last time they tried that, they left Covington with a 20 point loss.

I agree though that this could be a close game which is why I said it could go either way, depending on which Holmes team decides to show up. Should be fun to watch.

Both Boone County and Holmes are both off school tomorrow, which buts this game in doubt now.

Boone two years ago was not as good as last year or this year. I would be surprised if they got beat by 20.

Just got word that the game is on for tonight

Holmes will and should be up for this game should win by double figures.

Just got word that the game is on for tonight

Same here. Was texting Mike Gabbard a few minutes ago and he confirmed that the game is still on for tonight and he hadn't heard anything different.

Yes, game is on for sure, should be a good one.
