JT's move was dumb but James being kicked off with two idols in tow takes the cake.

 

I don't know I think Tyson basically voting himself out this season was the dumbest move I've ever seen.

When a politician promises your town a major industry and then changes his mind and awards it to the town 30 miles away in order to get re-elected, are you going to vote for him in the next election? I didn't think so.

 

None. And that's the whole point. He burned a bridge with every player in the game and they still couldn't keep him out of the Final 3. Instead they vote for the two people that happily followed him at some point in the game to save themselves because he has such complete control of the game.

I have been saying it since the halfway point in the season, and especially since the merge. Russell can not win the game the way he plays. He is the best player ever at getting to the end IMO. No one has ever controlled their own destiny throughout the game, ticked people off and then got them to vote how he wants, formed better alliances and been able to read people to determine the best way to get them to do what he needs. He is the most entertaining player ever in the game. He also is the most offensive player to the other players, blatantly and calculatingly lies to other players and through his arrogance belittles his fellow players. I enjoy watching Russell. I thought there was an outside chance he could get maybe two votes tonight. Russell supporters ... not one single vote. Think about that. Don't be as arrogantly ignorant as Russell and say there isn't a flaw in how he plays the game. There is.

 

Russell has changed Survivor. Immunity idols will be handled differently in future shows because of Russell. Players who follow the show will play differently because of Russell. I believe there will be more people trying to play more strategically and avoiding lieing and backstabbing and blindsiding people because of Russell. This next season will be interesting to watch to see how the game changes because of Russell. But he is not the best player ever or he would have won at least once.

And that is why he will also never win the game. Burning all the bridges along the way can get you to the end, but when the power passes to the jury Russell has no chance. You can lie and cheat and deceive in the game, but Russell's ego is too big to be able to do all that and still not rub their noses in it. The more I watch this game, it is a rarity that the dominant physical player or dominant pyschological player wins the game. The smart social player who is not perceived as a huge threat has succeed most in this game. There have been only a few truly dominant physical players to win the game was Ethan Zohn, Tom, and J.T.. Colby arguably the most dominant physical player ever finished second. There is something to be said for playing the flying below the radar game. More players have won that way than any other strategy (Vecepia, Sandra twice, Bob, Natalie, Earl, Tina).

Erik from Micronesia giving immunity away at Tribal Council was the dumbest move in the game. There is a fine line between shrewd moves and "dumb" moves. If Parvati had not read Amanda so well when he gave idols to Jerri and Sandra, that would have been considered one of the dumbest moves ever in Survivor history had he heroes voted for Parvati. Instead it is probably one of the best moves ever.

With the mentality they have now everybody should just go on the show and act incompetant. Loose every challenge. Do nothing around camp. That's what a competior does right? Please! It's a joke! He dominated the entire game of the best of the best. People were mad because he outsmarted, outwitted and outlasted which is what Survivor uses as their slogan which is a JOKE! Be lazy, loose everything, do nothing around camp and become a multi millionare! I don't know if I'm more disappointed Russell lost, Sandra won or that the players have so little respect for the game/competition that they let their hurt feeling get in the way of the best player winning. Honestly I could have almost handled Paverti winning because she at least competed and beat the odds.

JT's move was a good one I thought. He was out and it was a last ditch effort. Had it worked he would have been a genius in the game. It was worth the shot he took I thought. Once again Russell coming up with the concept that it was a girls tribe got another guy booted.

It doesn't bother me, that Russel lost. He is missing a true element in his game...

For me it's the hypocrisy that gets me with some of these people. Take Rupert or Candice, for example. Both of them lied & deceived & blindsided (or at least attempted to do so) on numerous occasions. Then they both get on their little soapbox & belittle Russell for doing the same.

 

I see it like this: those with no ax to grind (voting Americans) have twice given the nod to Russell as being the best player. Conversely, those with an ax to grind (previous 2 juries) have twice voted to award a non-deserving player as the sole Survivor. Face reality: the only reason Sandra won was because Russell chose to vote off Courtney instead of Sandra several weeks ago. The two of them were at Russell's total mercy, and Courtney happened to be the one that got the short end of the stick.

 

What makes this even worse is that this was essentially a two-contestant race between Parvati & Sandra, and Sandra still won!?!

Like it or not, one element of the game is that the jury decides who wins. Those votes are cast for many reasons. Getting to the end and doing the least amount of political damage to the jury is a formula for success. Russell also had many chances to vote out Sandra and did not. He even thought, incorrectly, that she would not garner votes from the jury. He only has two of the elements down pat. Outlast and outwit he is one of the best, outplay (i.e. social politics) not so much...

 

I actually think Parvati played a stronger all around game than Russell did this time around and Russell even agreed during the reunion show.

I've said all along that Parvati is a better player than Russell because of the social aspect. She is more sneaky and covert about blindsiding and scheming while Russell is in your face about it. Russell and James have a very similiar set of social skills and neither can win because of it. Meanwhile, Sandra and Colby advanced as far as they did because of their social skills

No, it wasn't. Tyson voted himself out. He had a 6-2 alliance in his favor. All he had to do was vote the way he was told and no matter if Russell or Parvati had the immunity idol the other would have been voted off. Instead his ignorance took over he listened to Russell and voted for Parvati, Russell gave her the idol and instead of it being 3-2 and Russell going home genius Tyson let it be 3-2 against him and his own vote put him out. At least James never voted himself out.
