February 12, 201016 yr If the Bengals play their cards right they might be able to pick up Lawrence Phillips, Todd Marinovich, and Rae Carruth on the cheap . . . .
February 12, 201016 yr The Bengals make it about as hard as they can for a fan to like them. When it comes to professional teams, I really don't care who they have as long as they win. Now when it comes to college, or high school teams I do care and would be very upset about bringing guys like this in on my favorite team. Its just different when it comes to professional sports though IMO. As far as I am concerned they can bring in TO, Pac Man, Matt Jones, Stallworth, and even Thurman back and I wouldn't care as long as they ended up making them a better team. Yeah it might create controversy before the season, but once the season started and if those guys were really helping out. Then you can almost guarntee that you wouldn't hear anyone being upset anymore about them bringing them in. In professional sports lets not kid ourselves, we just want to see our teams win and if they do we forget about everything else if they do. Is that right no, but thats just how it is. None of us would have any problem with them signing these guys if the do end up helping us out. (For the record I am not sure if bringing in any of those guys would really help out much. However if they did help out, then I would have no problem with it at all.)

So you're saying if a player was doing coke but they catch 3 TD passes the next week people are going to not care that he's doing coke? I don't really think so......
February 12, 201016 yr They might make their way down to that Playpen too. He's probably more of a Club Venus guy.:jump:
February 12, 201016 yr So you're saying if a player was doing coke but they catch 3 TD passes the next week people are going to not care that he's doing coke? I don't really think so...... Yeah thats not right, but just how it is. The team went what 10 and 6 this year? Say getting those guys does help out and they end up going 12 and 4 with a first round bye. Do you honestly believe that people on here or any Bengal fan will be saying, I rather them only have won 6 games than have those guys on the team? No, basically every single fan would be happy about it, and would not be saying anygthing bad about the signings anymore since they helped out. Is that the right way to think about things, no it is not. However that is just how it is with being a fan of professional sports. If the team ends up winning, we end up not caring as much about the other things. Now in college or high school that would be a big problem even if they weree winning. However when it comes to Pro sports, things get overlooked then if the team is winning it just has always been like that. Its only if the team is losing when people really start to care about those things and not like it. Even you probably wouldn't say anything about it during the season, if it ended up helping out the team. Well actually you might now, just to make a point haha. However if I never brought this up, everyone would really stop making a big deal out of it come the season time if the moves did end up helping out.
February 12, 201016 yr Which Jones? Probably Matt. He's the only 1 of the 2 that had an offer as of this morning.

February 12, 201016 yr Might as well roll the dice on TO if your gonna go this far. :thumb: I'd much rather see Cincy get TO. He could liven that offense up a lot with Chad on the opposite side, IMO.
February 12, 201016 yr Correct. Matt Jones is a Bengal... I know someone will ask for it, so here it is: http://cincinnati.com/blogs/bengals/2010/02/12/report-matt-jones-is-a-bengal/
