February 10, 201016 yr Why would we not look at someone like Vincent Jackson if we don't go for Brandon Marshall? Is Vincent Jackson going to be a free agent? If he is going to be one, I expect the Chargers will Franchise tag him though.

February 10, 201016 yr From this thread: http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/showthread.php?t=199631 The Browns released Donte' Stallworth today shortly after Roger Goodell reinstated him into the NFL. What are the odds the Bengals sign Stallworth? I think it'd be a good move. Stallworth made a mistake. He has served his time & has already been reinstated to the NFL. If the Bengals don't give him a chance, somebody else will. The Bengals need help at WR & Stallworth and/or T.O. would help a ton.

February 11, 201016 yr I realize that he made a huge mistake, but it wasn't even his fault that he hit the guy. The person was in the middle of the road and had no reason being there. In no way am I condoning what Donte did and he served his time and rightfully so, but I don't mind giving him a second chance.

In his 7 year career, Stallworth has averaged an underwhelming 42 catches for 626 yards per season. I don't think he will help "a ton." He'll be 30 next year, hasn't played in over a year, and outside of one solid year (2005) has been as common a WR as they come. The Bengals can do better elsewhere.

I wouldn't mind the move. I just hope that if they do sign him, that they don't become content with it and think that they fixed their problem at receiver. They can get him, but would still need to add someone else IMO.
February 11, 201016 yr Donte Stallworth? Seriously? The Bengals are going to get to the Super Bowl by signing an average WR who just got out of jail? Brown should be forced to forfeit the franchise if this is true. What a joke.

Brown should be forced to forfeit the franchise if this is true. What a joke. I don't think it would be that bad of a signing as long as they are not content with just doing that. They can sign him, but they still better at least try to go out and get a top receiver. Having Stallworth with his speed wouldn't be bad at all as long as its just as the third or fourth receiver. The thing is though knowing the Bengals, they would just be content with things if they sign him. So if signing him means they will then be content with how the receiver position is. Then I definitely don't want them to get him.
